Looking for good LGBT+ comics

@Milou I love you. :'D Thank you for this. As I said, I just didn't know how to go about it. I've been doing a lot of research for the era that I've based my comic off of and the topic of transitional people was on my list of things to look up. The characters, aside from the main 4, are all still under concept and what not.

I'm going to have to take a gander at all these lovely people in our history~~ Thank you for sharing that with me!!

@punkarsenic Grammatically incorrect as it may be, I don't think it's transphobic at all?? I certainly don't find it, nor do I see it as so... Outdated, maybe, but definitely not transphobic. (before you say anything, as a transman, I personally do not find it in the least...)

A trans man (sometimes trans-man or transman) is a transgender person who was assigned female at birth but whose gender identity is that of a man. The label of transgender man is not always interchangeable with that of transsexual man, although the two labels are often used in this way.

not using a space btwn trans and man has been generally agreed by trans activists to be iffy at the least bc its implying theres a different between a trans man and man. like, u dont say a gayman. a blackwoman. u say a gay man and a black woman. space. bc its an adjective, and a gay man is still a man, and a black woman is still a woman.

Okay peeps. I am a "real life transguy," in contact with a lot of fellow FTM's/transguys/transmen, etc. Those are words used to described the transgender experience, and not the person as a whole, and therefore is not usually offensive (if used in a non-transphobic way) but of course varies from person to person. And this is a phenomenon that happens with pretty much everything, and clearly even with pronouns, it's basically the same thing. You don't want me to use the word FTM to describe you, I won't use it. You don't want me to use the pronouns they/them, I won't use it.

The entire point was to say that it's a matter of preference, and there's more things to fight about whereas this is a term that most people don't even understand enough to use derogatorily. That everything is all okay.

I didn't see any mention of you two also being trans, other than Milou who wrote an amazing comment about it originally. Sorry about that.

@KaiLynx Well said! Sexuality and labels are hard enough, and getting even more confusing as we go into the grey matter. That's why I rather not go by any sexuality label personally. I like who I like, and I am who I am and I embrace it and go on in my life. ^^

BUT BACK TO COMICS which is why we are all here and respect each other for!!

@thegearpunk I hope this thread doesn't deter you away from your original comic idea. I found it to be a promising concept and you may want to heavily look more into history. Just be careful of who you depict the character as, people were not too friendly to such concepts during that time period and would likely harm a character if this is going to be historically accurate.
There is plenty of proof ranging from homosexuality, to transgender to intersex in such time periods. Just look at Greek and Japanese history alone for that, it's very fascinating. I found this link below, it may prove a useful read to you! Good luck on your future project!

Well, it's still a bit new, but I am an ftm trans person creating a slice of life webcomic about the lives of three transgender roommates. Here's the link if you'd like to have a look: In The Middle. I'm not sure if it qualifies as what you think is 'good', but you can check it out if you want.
It will briefly feature a poc and muslim friend of Melissa, one of the main characters, within a few pages and Mels' girlfriend is also dark skinned and will be appearing later in the comic. The rest of the cast is mostly white, sorry.

Note that this is an old title. As soon as I can continue it, the plot focuses around two novelettes: the first novelette is about a group of teenagers with uncaring or problematic parents that must form their own way in the world in their own family. The star is a male to female who is first met before she has came out. The second novelette is set after she has come out to her friends, roughly a year and half later.

The group of misfits get together in a makeshift gaming facility known as 'the barbershop' where their genetically engineered dogs in their video games must fight to the death. In the second novelette, it is set after the MC has moved onto playing JRPGs in the near gaming cultural arena.

Oh and being trans doesn't mean grey-aro polysexual biromantic. That's what cis people on Tumblr would like to distort it as being. But that's not what it means at all.

Here are some of my suggestions

Noxious Error
This one I'm on the art team but not a part of the writing process, so I don't know how much I'm allowed to say.
The cast is ethnically diverse, two of them are from the Caribbean(which personally excites me), and LGBT+. The story is a bit dark though as a precaution.
Monster Pop
Since no one seems to have suggested this, it's a spectacular comic that has trans and non-binary main characters and (not to spoil anything) the some of the other mains are LGBT+. The cast, although small, is racially diverse and the author herself is queer .

In my comic, Mercat Musings the main character is agender (or using the umbrella term, gender neutral). I also have several characters that WILL be introduced that are on the LGBT+ spectrum (two gay dudes, a trans man, an asexual woman, a bisexual man, etc)!

I'm a panromantic/asexual transman myself, and while the comic is just starting, I've got plenty of characters planned that fall under the LGBTQ+ range.

One of the main characters, Kyran, while not explicitly stated right now, is homoromantic/asexual and gender neutral (though he prefers they/them pronouns, he/him is also acceptable).

Some of the characters yet to be introduced include a transwoman zebra-centaur (supporting character), an aro/ace lizard girl (main character), and a panromantic/sexual vampire (supporting character).

Shameless self-promotion here but my comic Fallacy fits the bill cleanly even if its main focus isn't LGBTQ+ or even romance, it's more drama fantasy about very bad decisions and their consequences ( those bad decisions don't involve being negative about gender/sexuality).

Fallacy's main cast is made up from pansexual genderfluid elf (who does go with "he" pronouns most of the time), demisexual young man, and bisexual + lesbian women who are in relationship with each other. So far only the relationship has been brought to light but as the story progresses all the other things will get shown too. There are other supporting characters too who fall under the MOGAI umbrella. There's also other variety in diversity like disability and race.

As for myself, I'm pansexual/demiromantic/possibly genderfluid (trying to figure this one out still)

Shameless self promo but pretty much all the characters in Angles + Deamuns are LGBT+ uwu. It's about angels and demons (as you probably guessed by the name) but it's mostly cute angels being cute tbh.
