My name is Amy, I started reading Manga in the romance genre nearly twenty years ago. I have always loved the community and the feelings expressed through the art. I work in healthcare and love to give back to the community.
Project Details / Pitch / Sample
I have written a light romance fantasy novel. It is in process of being published as I type. It is 41 chapters or roughly 80k words. I would expect to have roughly one to three chapters per one chapter of the novel. So, expecting roughly 80-100 chapters. The story is left open for more future development, if the novel or graphic version became a success.
The novel revolves around Lena, cast from her magical kingdom of Light in infancy to the human region. Her powers sealed by a dragon amulet until she comes of age. When attacked in a night cub on her 20th birthday her powers begin to awaken. She is then forced to retreat back to the magical world of her birth. It uses the elements of light such water, earth, and wind versus the powers of darkness such as fire, destruction, disease.
Paid or non-paid? Collaboration? Partnership?
I was looking for a collaboration but open to some paid + collaboration where I provide the story and guidance in the paneling/scene/dialogue/tone of each chapter. I am garbage at drawing. I know my limitations. If the artist purely wants to collaborate and create the art, any proceeds would be split 60/40 (negotiable), with 60 going to the artist, you would be doing what I feel is the harder job and as such should be compensated more. However, I also understand people have bills to pay. I could contribute compensation upfront for each chapter, $100-200 a chapter. Depending on the compensation the split for proceeds would differ.
Skills you are looking for / what you are looking for
I am looking for an artist that isn’t afraid of there own creativity. I have very specific ideas but always very open to the artist input. You are the professional in the art aspects and I would trust your judgement. I do like the more realistic manhwa art style.
The work would require, art in fable creatures’ dragons, kitsune…ect
Required Software (Optional)
Whatever you need for the job. I am not the expert, so whatever tech you are comfortable with.
Schedule/scale (Deadlines, the length of the work, etc)
This is also flexible and up for debate. I would love to get one chapter a week, life happens and this might not be the primary source of income for the artist. If they want to do 2 chapters a week or 1 chapter every 2 weeks. This might also alter compensation, the faster they release, the sooner income might come in, if they process will be slower, the chapters will have to sit and stock pile for a while.
