My editor has been working on a short spinoff story that leans into heavier themes with suspense, dark humor, psychological tension, and violence. It definitely explores some intense emotional ground, with scenes that might flag Tapas' maturity filters.
The story is based on two one off villains from one of my original works, but my editor reimagined them in a much darker direction than I had ever imagined. Still, it’s a story that feels very niche.
I’ve already received insightful feedback from creators like Emalie and Glofernwolfe (huge shoutout to both!), and one thing that came up is whether Tapas is the right home for something like this. Apparently, marking all episodes as “Mature” can reduce visibility which makes me wonder if other platforms might be better suited for niche, adult-oriented audience.
What we’re Looking For:
Suggestions for alternative platforms (especially for novels, not just comics) that welcome darker/mature content.
Or, if this kind of thing does have a place on Tapas, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
