Lost my first sub today T^T

I lost my first subscriber today for my new comic Letters Across The Hall-Bl I have mixed feelings about the whole thing T^T

I mean I can guess why--- because I can't put up any real pages due to my tablet pen needing a replacement tip , in the mean time I have been posting get to know them character bios, rough sketched ones.

losing subs is normal and happens to every creator. I think it's for the best that you lost the sub instead of having an inactive subscriber. It's sad at first just like when I lost subs before but eventually it will be like a normal thing.

I have 25 now which I must say is an amazing number but It still saddens me that they left before the comic really started

The impatient type of sub... Well think of it that it's their loss then. Maybe in the future they will stumble upon your comic and be interested again.

main point: Just don't take it personally. Some people prefer to keep their reading list small, and if they really don't want to read your comic anymore, you can't force them to continue or anything. Just keep doing what you're doing. It's a waste of your time and energy to get hung up on those sorts of things. Plus, and this isn't to get anyone down or anything, but as your numbers get larger, so too do the number of dead accounts that are subbed to you (people who have 3k subs are only getting maybe 1/2 to 1/3 of the average views that their sub count would suggest, that's just how it works everywhere when it comes to subscriber-based platforms).

It happens all the time - please try to not take it personally. I've sometimes lost 10+ subs overnight, and I put out full colour pages twice a week, so don't take this solely as a judgement on the stuff you're posting.

The subs who stick around are the ones that matter, after all. =)

We only have 90% remaining of all the subs we've ever gotten. Readers lose interest. They get impatient. They close their accounts. It's just part of being a creator.

It's sad when it happens. We try to update twice a week to not make the readers wait. But somehow we update or not we get 1~2 people unsubscribing almost every day. 3~6 every 3 or so days. ;A; I told myself not to let it bother me, but losing even 1 still gets to me. It makes me feel like "Maybe I'm doing something wrong" which leads me to thinking "Is it the story? The flow? The art?" But then again, worrying about it won't change anything... And those who unsubscribed don't even care about us creators. >A<
I try not to think about it too much though and just focus on making pages. Apparently, if we update often we get to have our comics up in the Fresh section and new people might find us. That's the only way we can attract attention.
Cheer up! And I hope you get your new pen nib soon so you can get to working on your pages. ^^

me too!!!

But yeah I wouldnt read to much into it. the numbers are nice but can drive you insane if you watch them. I tried to avoid looking at them nowadays and concentrate on making a good product. Even comments can be a double edged swords like the stats can be but not so much.

Hey, don't be hard on yourself or your comic. Readers come and go and some stick while some don't.
I never get sad about it, because I see it like falling in love - even if they unsubscribe, there has been something lovely about your comic that made them do it in the first place! People unsub for all kinds of reasons - maybe the pacing wasn't right, maybe the update schedule and this does not mean they're not still fond of it.
Last time I noticed I've lost a subscriber I just went "huh".
If nothing else, you've given one more reader the opportunity to familiarize with your story and isn't that what it's all about?

Yeah, it happens all the time unfortunately. Losing subs is a regular occurrence for pretty much all of us. Sucks, but try not to focus on it too much. :s

I understand that feeling. I loose subs a lot more then I gain them it is a bit discouraging and like many people said it happens to use all. i am happy for the subs I get.

And I am sure that people will see your comic and enjoy it and sub. Or maybe they will pick it up again.

My biggest problem is I sub and as I am reading o don't realize I unsub till I find the comic missing from my list. it happens a lot to me because I read on a Mobil and the site doesn't load well so as I am trying to read I may hit something stupid and loose comics. Idk if that happens to anyone else but it maybe a reason

yo bruh regardless of the amount of subs I have it is heart wrenching to see the number go down even by one. Especially on the same day you check in on your account.

Best thing to do is accept it and understand that not everyone may like your story from the get go.
It's okay to have a harsh beginning with popularity, all it sets you up for is a build up to success. Then an eventual pitfall into failure a few times along the road but still, success!

I must say thank you all for the support I feel energized and excited to try new things and better myself , Im self teaching a lot of things and just like yesterday learned how to make digital pallets for shading and Im pretty proud of myself.
