We've gotten a bit of a reputation for being the "stats guru" here on the forums. Well, we have to admit that sometimes our stats can get totally wrong.
It's come to our attention that Simliarweb.com, who we have been using in the past for all of our data quotes, did a MASSIVE adjustment of all of their data. Previously LINE Webtoons was doing (according to Similiarweb) 24M visitors a month. Well they've now adjusted that to 76M. O.O
Tapas received an adjustment as well, from 9M to 12M.
So there you have it, LINE is 6x larger than Tapas, when previously believed to only be 3x larger.
Lately there's been some discussion going on the forums about how Tapas doesn't do enough for creators and LINE is the golden calf. However, based on this revised data, your series should automatically be 6x larger on LINE. If it's not, then one could reasonably argue that perhaps Tapas is doing more for your series than LINE is.
Also there has been another thread going on about how there's been a sudden drop in views at LINE and why? Yeah, for creators who are there, you should be seeing a big drop in views because LINE lost 32% of its traffic in August as a whole. The most reasonable explanation is because of school starting up, however, in comparison, Tapas only lost 10% of its traffic for the same period, so perhaps there is more than meets the eye going on.
Besides school, perhaps creators are updating less because of the Patreon support program's future being uncertain and the decline in updates has led to a traffic loss?
Let the heated debate begin.
