Hello! False protagonist is basically a kind of plot twist--

It's a character who we think is the protagonist due to the story mainly focusing on them, but as the story progresses, it's revealed they're not the protagonist. There's multiple ways authors can reveal this (Killing them off, making them the antagonist, making them less important plot-wise etc.). After the reveal, they get replaced by the ACTUAL protagonist and the story starts to focus on that person from there on.

It's fun! One of my favorite type of plot twists ever~

the art style on your thumbnail reminds me of something from a choose-your-own-story type video game, but do the character designs happen to be inspired by Kpop idols, because they kind of remind me of them

That's the first I've heard of that, but I approve! XD I love those kinds of video games!

As for the character designs, technically yes, they could be inspired by kpop idols or South Korean style.
South Korean/Kpop fashion and design is really popular across Asian countries such as the Philippines which is where the story takes place in. People here tend to get inspired by these styles and replicate them. Since such designs became a trend/norm in my country, it's no wonder that I would subconsciously add them in my novel (My character's hairstyles, fashion choices etc.). Their school uniforms, however, are similar to traditional uniforms here.

Hmm, Conri is a name I've never heard before. What culture is it from, or did you invent it? The name of your story is also pretty intriguing to me. I use the idea of color and sound a lot in my own story, so it makes me curious how color, and the idea of muted color might be used by other authors.

I enjoyed the name and was inspired by a character from a different comic YEARS ago that sadly was unfinished and out of publication.

I believe its either Irish or Gaelic meaning wolf king or king of hounds which I didn't realize when I made my character because he's a shifter in the DnD universe (funny coincidences huh! )

Thanks! I hope others do enjoy the concept of being drained of color and partially living in an unsaturated/dull world. Its heavily influenced by magic so its a double edge sword sort of, but Conri hasn't learned it yet haha He's picking up on subtle clues though!
