Manga and chapters question for pros?

I have a manga I am working on. Alongside making the main Novel a guideline for the manga....

That said, I am trying to make sure the pacing stays the same as the Novel and not change too much, but I went to do chapter 1, and it was too big, 69 panels. So I had to split it into chapter 1, part 1, and chapter 1, part 2.

Does that make readers mad? If not, should I release it as an average chapter? And if so, how do I sacrifice bits from my book to not lose it in order to do the manga? I want the manga to expand the novel, not chop it down.

Yea think you should be fine, same happens to me, my comic episodes usually past the 60 page limit so ended up doing the same
Saw you have "Chapter - Title - and Part" so it seems clear to me
If your parts dont exceed 2 or 3 it should remain easy enough to grasp

Thankfully never had much complains but one guy in past did point out that I should put a numerical order at the beginning so people won't mix up "Chapter 1 Part B with Chapter 1 part F"
In my case the parts go past 6-10 so it would have got confusing.

so my new labelling is
"a sequential number - Actual Episode Number - Part"

This way its the 38th entry on tapas but actually Episode 4 Part A
I'm not the biggest fan of my current labellng but stuck with it till a better idea comes.

I split my chapters up, usually into 4's. Ex. Chapter Name - 1/4, Chapter Name - 2/4, ect. You're better off splitting your chapters. You collect more views + likes that way, and readers don't mind, as long as you don't make them too short (like 1 panel/1 page short). There's not really a length rule for posts. I like making my episodes take at least a minute to finish reading, but that's just me.

I'm doing page-per-week posting so that's kind of the extreme version of cutting it up. I think it's not the best for readers but most readers are going to come to your work after everything's been posted so it won't really matter.

Me as a reader, I barely check the Chapters Names xD I read what I get if I like the story and I also saw artists who doesnt even give their Episodes a Name. It's just...Episode N. xx then. And that also is totally fine I guess.

When I remember correctly the guideline of Tapas was to upload a minimum of 6 Panels till 12 per Episode, so that you can offer maybe a weekly update.

I try to upload at least a minimum of 12 Panels per Episode (so weekly uploads are unreachable for me), bc otherwhise I think you can't dive too deep into the story. For a Comedy that lenght would be fine, if you want to go emotional I would upload more (for the feels)

I shoot for 40 to 50 at a time the first one ended in 53 panels and the other was 69 lol... That said with the scrolling do you count word gaps as panels if so it is probably more then that Oops. I just know I use croppy and it cuts the pages down into up-loadable and flowable bits of my story and in doing so I can only upload 60 pieces so the first one maxed out 60 and I has like 48 or 52 left thus the need for a part 2... This is my first manga ever!

I personally prefer short bursts. More updates, less panels. I do 5-7 panels an update which is weekly or biweekly when I need to build a buffer.

Another advantage of short bursts is I can glance at my phone on the job, read for 1-2 mins then go back to work without being stuck scrolling for 10-20 mins just to read a chapter. Because sometimes when you close the tapas app midway and you open it again, you need to scroll down to get to your "bookmark".

Nope, i just count the real drawn panels. Not that in between or if there are many speech bubbles. Thats no panel for me xD

Chapters exist as a natural stopping place for readers so they have a easy to remember place to put down the book. Make sure it's not ending in the middle of convos and isn't to loo long (anything past an hour to read on avg) and most readers don't care otherwise. You can format it how you like

As for the chapter 1 pt 1. This is easy to follow especially for those migrating from the book itself. As long as you don't take it further (ex. Ch1-part 1.4 Section 2 return of the monkeys interlude) than your good.

You have good insight. Can you read my chapter 1 and give me insight? I feel it comes off rushed. Which I know sounds funny, seeing as I had to split it. I want the pacing of the novel and manga to fit the same chapter per chapter.
