I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. (Dune aka one of my fave things ever and a huge inspo)

Hello and good morning! My name is MeltingCORE (Emily). Some of you probably already recognize me. I had left around August because near the beginning of this year I was dealing with a dire home situation that had been building for years. I fled to my homestate with my brother and mother. I can't say everything is "fixed" because that isn't how this works. There's so many things I'm personally still unlearning (like being a people-pleaser so I can finally put my needs first). But I'm in a much better place mentally and I'm moving forward from my past every day with joy in my heart. It's amazing how much we can change in a short period of time. People always tell me I'm so cheerful. My mom jokes that you could throw me against the wall and I'd get back up, giggling. Now people know why. I'm fighting the darkness with laughter. (Also, I missed posting on here because I don't see some of the creators I follow on the Discord!) And on a happier note, I'm proud to say that ya girl is now teaching and engaged to my significant other of 15+ years. :heartpulse:

So, let's have a year-end promo thread! I love creating and finally got my groove back. (And thank you for the front-page feature awhile back. Yes. I saw it!) I'm sure there's tons of new people I've never seen here before. If you don't know my work, I'm publishing two novels: "Red Shift" (a cyberpunk technohell series) and "Mega-Egypt" (a historical fantasy mystery series). I also have an anthology manga for "Red Shift" called "Negative Impact". Sometimes I do music and animation for my work but I'm super slow on those things lol. Below is some of my work and links to other places around the web where you can find me. Now, show me what you got!

PS: Shoutout to @CursedBeasts (Void) for being one of the coolest people I've ever met and an amazing friend. I appreciate you, Sammie, Ian, Loki, Chara, Asia, and Alex for being my friends for so long. Please go check Void's work out! They deserve more eyeballs to beam their stuff into. :eye:

Here's my comic!
I'm hoping to get 250 subs by 2023

Hey,

Thanks for making this thread and here's mine. It's a collection of spoken word and quotes, collected over the span of 4 years. The genres are fantasy, slice of life and a little bit of non-fiction- Interested? Here's the description below!

In this technologically advanced generation where we are continuously connected yet constantly isolated, the feeling of invisibility can be quite deafening as a result. Even so, when night falls, people from all walks of life gather at this particular place. A blissfully tranquil land where any memories can be found amongst countless levitating, multicoloured bubbles. Nevertheless, there was once a girl with an enchanted quill who stood in the fragile veil between these contrasting worlds... Determined to record and make known the symphonies of the countless travellers who have traversed the land. Who knows? Your symphony may be lying in wait amongst her collection...

in a world in which people develop powers from their trauma and suffering?

I've read through some new things here already but I'll be with friends today for celebrations. I'll be back sometime tomorrow to check out more works and hope everyone has a great New Year! :heartpulse:

My New Year's goal is to get NCC 100 subscribers in 2022. I'm already so close!

Hey! Hope you have a great new year <3 This year I started posting a comic, Iapetus Snow but got burnt out with it super fast, plus I wasn't 100% happy with my art. thankfully, I had already written a novel version of it back in 2019/earlier 2020 so I started revising and posting that instead! I'm pretty happy with myself. I can look back on it and think I actually did do something this year~

I liked your intro, so I thought I'd share my novels among the comics.

Congrats on all you accomplished in 2021, taking time to focus on your mental health, starting fresh, new job, and getting engaged. Hope your wedding is as darkly elegant as your art and writing.
Here's to 2022, its onward and upward from here!

Thank you, Sarah! (We've got a lot of fun planning to do hehe.) :sparkles: I've been reading "Bloody Brick Road" and I hope you eventually get a feature for it - love it!

Happy New Year :boom:
