Thank you so much for your kind invitation. I am having so much fun with this thread.
Now, first of all, I must say that this poem is mostly inspired by the poems of the real masters, so if you see something that reminds you of this or that poet you studied, I most probably studied him too. To celebrate the ethereal beauty of mermaids who have populated our imagination and ensnared our minds, my own two cents.
Your song in my ears
Arouses all my fears
As I sail the sea
I know you are awaiting me
The silk of your tail
So translucent, oh so frail
A soft caress on the water
Will make my will falter
Open your arms for me
Make this your moment of finality
To your warm danger I am blind
So, let your rocks break my mind
