In season two of Mallory Bash, the first comic introduces a singing gravedigger. He's singing, "Cigarette Lit" and is modeled after Dave Matthews. He will be a big character in this season, which is titled "The Dreaming Tree," and almost all of the episode titles are lines from various Dave Matthews [Band] songs, particularly, of course, "The Dreaming Tree."
There are other musical references, as well; there's one where Saki makes a Smashing Pumpkins joke. I do like to use music a lot in my comics. In the opening pages of Scratch, there are lines from Knights In White Satin that carry the tone as tension builds in the story.
