So, I never had any interest in tapas before making a comic, and I’m a bit confused as to how certain things work. Like the tags, or the mature thing. ESPECIALLY the mature thing. Is it only for bigger, serious, more explicit things, or even just a singular fuck-word is enough to warrant using it? And blood. Does the blood need to be specifically red blood? I usually make blood a non-red color to cheese censors and stuff, but I’m wondering if that’s enough.

For the mature tag, Tapas and the app stores only require it if the episode contains sexual content or realistic graphic violence.
Otherwise, you can use it to mark potentially sensitive topics to warn people ahead of time, like if the episode contains hard drug use, self-harm, etc.

Never had any problem with good ol' red blood while having no marks, just don't make stuff gratuitous for the sake of "mmhhm, sweet gore".

Define gratuitous, because at this point of my internet existence, I don’t know what that means anymore

Well, if you would love to have a gutting scene, don't make it overly bloody xD there are no real particular rules, so you'll have to rely on the common sense. If you think the scene will make most people puke - you need less gore in it :information_desk_person: I had a wolf being spashed, a monster eating someone with no head, someone being hanged, a bunny being exploded, someone being exploded with blood all over three other people (in a comedic way). It was all okay to be chosen to be on the site's front page, but it all wasn't particularly bloody-looking.

I have had a person lose a leg, poked eyes out, stabbed through the chest, stomped into the ground... all was fine. They are worried about sex. I had to move some word balloons around to cover some butts after getting an email from them about a year ago. They seem to have zero tolerance for that. They don't want porn or anything that looks like it. Gore seems to be fine as long as it isn't for gore's sake.

Makes sense. The internet in general seems to have a higher tolerance for gore than one (1) singular godamn tiddy.
I’ve gotten reported on instagram for posting anatomy studies from art class lmao
