New aspiring cartoonist help

Hi there, I'm a new aspiring cartoonist (series named Path of Least Resistance), and I am still learning, getting better with each comic, and my question is twofold.
Firstly, what would be the best way to improve my skills enough to properly convey my comedy in a non-distracting way?
Secondly, how does one acquire subscribers, or at the very least get their comic seen by a wide enough audience to find people who like my brand of comedy.

First, before i answer any of your questions, dont call yourself an "aspiring" cartoonist. Just get rid of that nasty word and start thinking of yourself as a cartoonist or else you wont give yourself the respect and discipline to get things done and have confidence and what not.

2.) This is actually a weird topic that ive seen discussed on this site a lot, and i dont really know if there is a specific answer for this. For one, dont go running to people asking for their subscription, no body likes that. Instead, be friendly and talk to people on the site. The tapastic community is shockingly nice and youll be suprised how interested people are in reading each others stuff. Do guest comics when you can. I see a lot of people create comics for eachother and its really cool.

I will say this, be careful as you enter in the comedy buiseness because comedy and slice of life are the two main comics on Tapastic. A lot of people will be doing excactly what you are doing, so just be mindful of that as you check in on your subscriber count.

Also, dont worry. Things like this take time and effort, so just be patient and have fun!

1. All I've got to say is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! Everyone has a very unique style and it just takes time to find yours. When I started I studied a bunch of comics that were stylistically similar to mine and networked with local artists. Soon you find tips, tricks and best practices and turn them into habits. One thing I've learned as an artist is I'm always learning and always bettering my art. Also if you're looking to get to a certain point before posting your work, don't! Tapastic has a very accepting community and some helpful creators, so just post what you have and improve as you go!

2. As far as getting subscribers, I have 3 things to say: post constantly and consistantly, make sure to use plenty of tags, and promote on the forums! There are always posts for showing off your work, progression, etc. If you keep working and posting you'll gradually start to gain subscribers.

The best way to improve is to find an artist you admire then study their work carefully. Once you figured out what makes your favourite artist so good, go and find him/her and extract his/her brain with a pair of pliers and quickly place it in a temperature controlled container. Attach electrodes to it and download all skill and knowledge data you can find. Using your neural interface, upload the data to your brain and there you have it, you're an skilled artist!

Finding subscribers is easy.
Kidnap as many people as you can and attach an explosive collar to them.
In order to stop the collar exploding, they'll need to subscribe to your comic and they must visit your page at least once a day.

This has worked wonders for me. I hope it helps!

What can i say dude? Practice makes perfect. Just gotta keep trying and see what works yknow? As for subs idk if i can help there. Ive seen many comics that are hilarious and have sadly not gained a following. I guess to get subs u should at least have an appealing art style, something easy on the eyes or interesting to look at.

Don't be afraid of failure. That's the path to doing nothing.

Don't give into perfectionism. That's the path to quitting.

Never just go through the motions. That's the path to stagnation.

Draw every single day. Write every single day. Break down what people who you admire are doing.
Ask for advise from people who don't like your work. Give advice to others, even if they seem to be better then you. (not unsolicited) If you can find fault in your stars, you get insight into their processes.

Talk and chat and make friends in an environment where everyone is stressed out because being creative is really hard on you. Because everyone is stressed out from being creative all the time, be super nice.

Let a comic fail and die to have a better one rise from the ashes if you need to.

And, uh, floss regularly.

Comedic Art: Facial expressions.
Comedic Writing: Make yourself laugh. Seriously. I still laugh at some of my writing. Not often. But the jokes that still make you chuckle to yourself will see you through many a dispirited day.

As for views... I don't have the slightest clue. Once I crack the code on how to get subs and views... well, I'll probably charge money. Haha

Seriously, just keep at it.
