New comic online. (crime-comedy drama) -any feedback?

hi, i was on the tapas forums before but somehow couldn't log in with my old username anymore.

i'm working on a new comic-series and would appreciate to get some feedback/critic/hatemail... -even some love.
(i'm not very good at social networking because i waste all my time drawing)

Hmmm I think it's still too soon to give you a proper critic. All I can think of now, is to change the beginning (Love, hate, revenge MAXIM K) of the first episode and try to make it more catching. Maybe try another font, add colors, and/or add an image of one of the characters...

And you must have an amazing patience for drawing background for each pannel oml

I kinda like it

It’s a little bit out of the box which I always appreciate. I like how you jumped into the story quick. I like the fat guy and the angry guy so far. I’m not sure what to think about it so far, I need to see what direction you take it. But as of right now I’m interested. I totally LOVE the art!! And it’s very readable and mobile friendly The actions are well done. It is an extremely professional looking comic. The writing also feel very professional too.

My only real suggestions are
1: Shorten the updates a bit. Tapastic audiences are used to short and frequent updates. So make sure to stagger em a bit more :3
2: I can’t really get a strong differential between the comedic parts and the drama parts. I understand that you don’t wanna go allll the way with the comedy, but I still feel you can make the difference more apparent. When I’m reading a joke it should feel like I’m reading a joke. When I’m reading a serious scene it should feel like a serious scene. It’s like an atmosphere change really. Right now it is all rather blended together, which in a way is a good thing because it means you can keep a story flowing nicely. But I always feel every comic needs a little bit of extremes sometimes

Hey Soju- I wanted to respond to this because the art style of your webcomic struck me as unusual and very expressive.

Thematically, it's not the sort of thing I'd typically read, so I'm probably not your intended audience. I will admit this is partially because based on the introduction they've gotten so far, I can't help but find the characters very unlikable and difficult to identify with. But I also think the fact that I can see past that to appreciate the artwork is a testament to how well done it is.

I have to agree with @JakiraJurosawa about the line between comedy and drama feeling very much blurred. A part of me wonders if this is is intentional. After all, the character design has a very caricature-like quality to it, and the whole thing has a "dark comedy" vibe. This leads me to suspect that you are aiming for the kind of humour that is more taboo and provokes at least as much discomfort as it does laughter. As long as this is what you're trying to achieve and are aware that some might find it more unpalatable than others, it seems to me you're accomplishing your goal.

dude, What I read (your comic) Was pretty good. I loved the wacky desings for the character is like if someona would have taken disney characters desings and have gave them more realism to them. I liked all the drama slowly building and the parallel stories which I hope they collide at some point to make the main plot.

I really enjoy what you've got so far! You've got my subscription at least. Crime fiction with comedic undertones always appeals to me. Your art is definitely well-suited to the tone of the story and your characters are very interesting!

I have a little crime-themed comic going on too - if you're okay with a lot of violence and supernatural shenanigans you might enjoy it, who knows... Sex and demons and rock and roll :^)

i can see how it is confusing to have drama and comedy mixed up like this. but it plays into the whole storyline. i just hope it works out as the story continues. i definitely see your point though!

i stay with the long episodes because that's how i started it - changing it now might look inconsistent. and the series will only have about 12 episodes.
