Here's my new novel. It's a gay romance / family drama set in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. It's NOT really your typical BL story by any means.
I really loved the UK TV series 'In The Flesh' and admittedly the film 'Warm Bodies'. And they formed some of my inspiration. Also, I really found the character of 'Brick', from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof quite compelling and something of him has found its way into one of mine.
In spite of the menace existing outside their survival bunker walls - there is a real warmth and sweetness to the world of Bull (the overprotective secret keeper) and Sam (adorable but out for revenge).
First wrote it as a play and screenplay, the process of recreating the story as a novel is really enjoyable.
I asked myself a few questions. What would I be willing to sacrifice to save the one I loved? How about letting someone go when there's a chance of recovery? Is romance inevitable when two people are alone for long enough, and would that relationship survive back in the real world?
