“The guildhall isn’t far, I can walk,” Ash said, thumbing behind him. “The fresh air might do me good, anyway.” He gave a small grin, adding in a little sway to complete the look, Dad, I’m still wasted routine.
Abel rolled his eyes, pointing at the vehicle. “I’m not taking you to the guildhall, I’m taking you home.”
Ash stiffened, his expression blank. “I don’t think—”
“What you think or how you feel about being around the girls and your mother right now is irrelevant,” Abel said, swinging open the driver side door. “You need a shower, food, and sleep, and you’re not going to get any of that if you go back to your place.”
Ash grimaced, glancing down at his water dragon girl. The look in her eyes was enough to convince him his father was right. If they headed back to the old bar, he’d only be inundated with job approvals, mission updates, and one very annoyed former Sarathian who was getting tired of pulling, what he called, “babysitting duty.”
Silkie stuck out her lower lip, widening her eyes in a look of adorable pleading she knew her Papa couldn’t ignore. He groaned, lifting her up into his arms and kissing her cheek.
“Fine,” he relented, walking toward the truck and pulling open the passenger door, depositing his daughter inside so she could crawl into the back, shifting back into her dragon form so she could pace around and stick her nose against the windows in excitement. Ash crawled in after her, slamming the door shut and sinking down, elbow on the door, his head in his fingers.
The series has returned!!
NEW CHAPTER DROP!!!
It’s been six months since Coby was made to return with the Sarathian’s, and both he and Ash have been fighting Scott on two fronts in their war to save the merfolk and other Divine and mythics who are being hunted and killed for profit.
Ash has developed a bad drinking problem, putting a strain on his and Coby’s relationship. Ash has taken in a water dragon, Silkie, who is apparently soul bonded to the Turners. Alise has been waiting for a sample of the paralytic used against the merfolk to prevent them from changing so she can make an antidote, and there’s a new drug on the streets that is causing mass addiction and deaths among humans called “scale.”
Welcome back to our boys Ash and Co-Bieasah Turner, as well as all you wonderful readers!
