Yup. For about a year I was a mod. But then I hit a mental rut and started debating on leaving Wattpad so I knew I wasn't up for sticking with the team and bowed out. Still in that mental rut so it was definitely the right call. Plus I didn't have to deal with the forum drama any more LOL I stopped posting in the forums around Dec last year but I was still lurking up until they killed them.
Honestly...I'm not going to cut down the words LOL I'm going to still have my writing style be my style, but I still try to find a place to cut them into parts while keeping the lengths to 1500-2000 words...which is still no easy task because man do I hate how those parts just end. I'm hoping that if I get back to writing that maybe I can better write natural ends into parts even if the chapter itself is still going. That wouldn't change my style too much, but I'm also not going to force that if I can't do it. I'm just not big on conforming certain styles because I'm just flat out too lazy for that
This right here is why I haven't just up and deleted all my writing accounts on any site while I deal with my mental crap LOL Making friends to me is the biggest selling point of these sites. You'll always find at least one person who is like minded be it because you share similar struggles or writing styles or whatever else. And it's just great to have people to talk to. It's why i think it was a huge mistake for Wattpad to shut down their forums. Instead of figuring out how to fix the drama, they just nuke them with no real warning.
@redfeather714 It's not letting me quote you so I'll do a poor woman's quote "I think I did 7 r4rs in a day once and only 2 of them ever held up their end of the deal...I was shook" Ugh that is horrible! It's also super shady. Like I get everyone wants reads, we wouldn't be posting if we didn't want reads, but it's just disgusting to not follow through on a promise to do something just to cheat someone into giving you a read for something they maybe wouldn't have read otherwise.
