New to the place/ update planning opinions?

Hiiii! I'm Jingle and I just posted my comic, Edin here a few days ago! I hear the community here is great and I can't wait to meet yall

anyway! One thing that really strikes me about this site is the webtoon layout...which I absolutely love, but it isn't very fit for typical webcomics. I was hunting around to see how other page based artists would update but they make an entire new episode for each page or two and it seems very...disorienting and flow breaking... however its recommended to update once a week which could make things a little difficult.

I guess my question is: How would it be preferred to handle a page based webcomic on a site like this? Updating more frequently but broken up or updating in bulk but as a longer episode?
(I ask because I will be facing this soon haha ;_; )

I feel the same confusion. That's why I updated the first third of my own comic and left a last page as a note that I will do a buffer with some pages and then update weekly. I think constant activity is better and more viral, so to speak. I don't find myself being able to do a whole episode/chapter in a week! xD

Im finding the same problem myself. I'd prefer to do full chapters than just pages. but the need for attention is high. so im trying to work something in so ill break a chapter down and end it a "certain" cliffhangers in the chapter itself. Like in chapter 2 of mine (the absolute)

I've got that problem. I'm doing page by page updates of The Penguins of Doom on Tuesdays and Thursdays on my personal site, and collecting the chapters here. So I have had nine page updates on the one site, but only one chapter on the other.

a whole chapter is overkill for sure @_@
Yeah I feel like leaving people hanging for more than a week or so will result in uninterest as compared to a consistent flow of a few pages... but man does it make updates difficult ; w ;
Making a buffer is a fantastic idea tho... i may have to consider that = w=a thanks!

I am a fan of the whole chapter method but its sure a long wait in between... I wonder how well you keep readers if you do that? : 0
Though I do suppose cliffhangers are a great method!

Yeah I'm beginning to feel like that's a smart way to go so people can pick and choose their preference of reading, be it page by page or waiting for a chapter. :,D

I've got three series running at the same time, and the first one, An Earth to Defend, is published twice a week whereas the others are once a week. It has at least twice the views as Interstellar Strike Force and 10 times as many as Ghost Division. There are other factors at play, I'm sure, like who likes what and everything, but the more often you publish it, the more it gets read, it seems.
