I wish I found this before smokesalty’s thread was locked.
It’s kinda obvious stuff, but I feel like I haven’t found much “theory” on branching storytelling until I found this article. So having words for this stuff is kinda validating. I’m close to finishing a CYOA game myself (at least writing wise). But before then, I was kinda in a “why make this story interactive?” funk. Ended up snapping out of it as soon as I got a idea I that worked. (In my head, at least.)
Still, if anyone has more insight (or know where to point me in a better direction), please share.
