oh, if you'd like advice on how to write healthier relationships in your stories. I'm actually working on making some writing courses now, so practicing helping people with their writing would be good for me anyway

I'm excited to get to ch 40 where James gets an unexpected visitor while waiting for wee wains to knock at the door for Halloween candy. We take a turn out of our Earth-adjacent realities into the supernatural. If I could get my beta reader following a schedule I'd be posting two chapters a month instead of one but we'll get there.

Also super excited to eventually publish book 4 where a particular Norse god makes an appearance. What better companion for a god in exile than an Irish lass with a strong faith in the fae?

i'm so excited for this week's chapter of "Damsel in the Red Dress" (Episode 47: Peekaboo) that I have to force myself not to spoil any more of it. i'm literally screaming on the inside.

lol, it took my male lead 35 chapters to tell the truth. So I guess he's still winning by 50%?

I feel that. My poor MLs don't see the FL on the radar for the longest time, let alone making a move. He's doing great at 35 chapters. :joy:

wait, you mean he didn't even notice her at all for a long time?! What-b-but she's the female lead. there should have been like, flowers and background music from day one.

and my male lead is not doing great. it's been 35 chapters, but fifteen years lol.

Whoa, fifteen years? We're 70+ chapters, and it's been (checks notes) three and a half weeks??? Oh gahd, this'll take a while... :joy:

lol, then he's definitely beating Kattar. Alicia and Kattar met in Junior High and they are now 28 years old, so yeah.

Oh man, I'd say I'm excited for the banter that'll be happening between Hunter and Ripper:

Let’s get this over with. Ripper drawled.
You better not ruin this for us. Hunter warned.
Funny, I could say the same to you. Our luck, you’ll trip over yourself and have us stamped a failure before this begins.
There’s no way I would do that.
Better not or so help me I will find a way to eat you.
Hunter resisted rolling his eyes.
You’d be eating yourself, you dingus.
As long as you die too, it’d be worth it.

ooh, romance. that's the part i'm waiting to get to in my story too

All of it, as I am a planner when it comes to my writing. However, I have to play the long game. Though I have a rough outline to the end of the stories, I'm writing the episodes one at a time.

I will say that one part I have really been looking forward to is coming in the next episode, one that I have spent months laying the groundwork for.

same i have a lot of unwritten scenes i'm looking forward to

Mostly looking forward to sharing the festival scenes for my Webcomic, well it's quite late into the story so it's a long wait. But it does show some wholesome interactions between the Yul and Tian, where you do get to see Tian being kind of truly happy for once.

I'm mostly looking forward to some of my other projects that I'm excited to share down the line, one being The Fallen Angel once I work out the dreaded mature content and censoring because of a few dark/gore scenes in-between the more normal fantasy with that hint of day-to-day life.

Probably The girl in a mech suit that can control dinner plates with psychic powers

:speaking_head::sparkles: This part (spoiler alert):

And the downhill after that - aka season's main climax - hehehe~

I'm itching to post the part about the Spy in my novel, not only because he has connections with another (partially finished but unpublished) novel of mine, but I also love his character design. A small spoiler:

Ooh a spy. I have one spy story I think, but I haven't gotten around to writing it yet

Since I've finally caught up with my own spoilers lol:

I can't wait to get to "Cooties" (next week's scheduled chapter of "Damsel in the Red Dress") Alicia accidentally sends Kattar a picture she meant to send to another friend of hers and well...(no more spoilers lol.)

Ahhh I'm so stoked for "Tantrum" but it won't be out until August. It's too early to start spoiling it...probably. unless it would be better to spoil it enough in advance for people to forget the plot points before we get to them...

OOH FUN PROMPT!!

OK, what I am so excited to share in my story is a 100% spoiler so I can’t directly say it but all I will say is each of my six characters have a twist.
For example, I introduce my mc Casey on the first page as this levelheaded, but slightly sad teenager and then the next page I reveal that she is an anxious mess.
Each character has this flip-flop, but the reveals are shown later and later.
I am excited to see how people are going to receive some unexpected characteristics! (Chapter 7🤫)

i think every good character should have at least one twist that isn't super obvious about them at first glance.

I agree! I attempt to make the reader comfortable with the characters then they find out they actually don’t know who these people are at all! I’m hoping the payoff will be as satisfying as writing it!

Same, I enjoy writing my stories and just hope people enjoy reading them just as much. I'm not sure I want to make the readers comfortable to then do a 180 on them as much as I learn more about the characters as I write them, so the readers have to learn the new details too, and sometimes they are shocking

That is a great approach! I do believe that watching a character in a film or book can be similar to meeting and getting to know a real person, you don’t truly know them until you do. Some people are straightforward but some people do a 180 on you a year into knowing them! I feel character creation can be the same way.

right? even when I plan things out ahead of time, I often still "discover" new details about my characters as I'm writing them, that surprise me, but just seem to work really well. All of the details about Alicia's childhood were made as I went along, as were Kattar's, but they've now formed a huge portions of the plot

Probably my favorite fight (jumping & 1v1s) scenes. I feel like I did really well on them and want to see everyone's reaction!

I'm still practicing my action/dramatic scene writing skills. I've not done it often, so it's not my specialty ATM lol

Yeah, action scenes take some time to get used to. You have to find your own groove for it. And it may not work everytime :cry_01:
