Look, I like this site a lot but there's a certain "weight" to things around here.

It's hard to build a sizable fan base without the in house advertising of the front page...but you can only get there by means of an algorithm that has some wonky edges ...OR by being noticed by staff.

@GamerPrincessXI is taking their shot while it's still on the table. It's risky sure... but it's got a higher reward quota than the other path.

idk what's going on but it's adorable. did not disappoint.
cheering for you regarding @'ing STAFF

//totally not keeping eyes on how this will turn out..... for future reference, of course

meanwhile STAFF looking at this topic...

There are 1.762 pages, and each of them contains 30 comics => there are more than 50.000 comics in total.

There are 257 pages, and each of them contains 30 novels => there are more than 7.000 novels in total.

I don't think that Tapas have enough workers for reading ALL of this... the best I can suppose is very superficial monitoring for the most of fresh series. I think that they are able to pay thoughtful attention only to some of works.

Maybe they have a criteria. I mean, if a comic lasts a certain amount of time... certain work or panel count then they try to check it out? It's a thought.

this sounds likely. though id like to know how many new series are launched a day - maybe staff keep an eye on new series, as most staff picks are in their early stages. this would also mean new series are at a major advantage over old ones

I suppose that they may also look at "popular" and "trending" from time to time for picking.

oh totes.

theres also daily snack to consider; they feature series that arent very new and arent very popular, so maybe there is a bit more active curation involved?

That's what I think. They surely have everyone assigned to check stuff every so often.

I've only had the staff like my first page when I was new to Tapas :'D that was still the days when it was Tapastic and the site was pretty new...

Nowadays there are just so many comic series and creators in the site... Welp, good luck @GamerPrincessXI and your bold way of promotion ahah

Which from various theories, is also an advantage in other sites algorithms.

If analytically motivated creators start acting on this information, categories and archives are going to get flooded with shorter and shorter projects. Longform is possibly gonna get buried outside of premium comics.

Update: Hi, Its been a couple since the last post to the thread....

The staff didn't dm me like everyone hoped lol. But, I read everyone's post and hearted everything. Thank you for r-reading my story. I hope everyone enjoyed it.

Also, I'm currently working on something new.

This is still one of the greatest power moves I have seen pulled on the forums and even though it didn't seem to pan out like you had planned, you still had the confidence and guts to actually go through it and for that, you have my eternal respect and I salute you.
