“Well, there are two or three ways.” He smirks, setting the cup down on his desk, and wiping the condensation onto his cable-knit sweater. “I can put my hands together and help you step up or you can take the heels off and climb up like a five-year-old in Mickey Dees play place.”

“Yes, Dacia, I am.” Iola responded, taking a long look at the muscular warrior woman wearing tanned leather leggings, heavy boots and a metal-studded jerkin as another flash of lightning illuminated the cave. “Did you find anything... in this horrible storm?”

“One big fat rabbit... and another smaller one.” Dacia replied with a loud laugh, shaking droplets of rain off her shoulder length dark hair.

Without warning, Gale leaned in and sniffed me. “Ehh,” she tilted her head side-to-side before continuing. “Ok, Not Brisa.” The sylph waved her hand and suddenly, the four of us had our feet off the ground. We were surrounded by wind so thick it seemed nothing could penetrate through. I reached towards it but it repelled me. “We must go. My wind magic will not delay Lord Callum for long.”

At the emphasized word ‘very’ Melissa forces herself to relinquish my face, with a jut of her lip like a child forced to put a doll back at the toy store.

She looks at me, rather than Mrs. King, with an apologetic shake of her head, "Oh my goish. I totally forgot - you have to forgive me. I always forget. You can just take this chair here, Ms. Palmero."
