The fairy rolled her eyes. She grabbed my arm and the bear-shifters let me go. Her touch wasn't cold nor was her palm sweaty, but I wanted to chop that arm off. It felt like shackles. Before I could do anything, she spoke: "And this my way to a promotion. See you later, Millicent."

As she teleported us out of there, I heard Millicent release a scream of anger and the unmistakable sound of glass shattering.

And what was that bullshit?! Smile at him?! The fact they’d had sex on the very table Anna was seated at (among other uncomfortable places) did not make her his object. The sun must have gotten to his head. He imagined himself some Hūna noble and her his concubine?! She jerked her head away. Kessler was messing with her, Anna knew. Knowing did not imply that she wasn’t getting pissed though.
