“Mom, stop trying to talk cool, you’re 45! It’s… unnatural.” - Andrew
“No easy task in this sea of madness.” Dainzel placed a hand on the young woman’s shoulder. “But none else among us can fly.”
“I understand.” Yuma nodded and then smiled. “Besides this is what I love to do... live dangerously.”
"Just as expected, this festival brought lots of nice people," says David.
"Nice people who are going to give the needy some coins, or the kind that's easy to steal blind?" asks Ava while holding a laugh.
“Aryan,” I began, trying to gently break the ice. “Could you tell me a bit more about Seraphina? Where does she reside?”
With a quiet huff, he said, “Not now. I need to focus.” His ire seemed bottomless.
“Sure,” My grin faltered for a moment. What do werewolves like to eat? “Do you… want something rare?”
“What?” She looked at me, puzzled, before clarity struck her. “Ew. No. Just like a burger or something. Well done.”

That one was one of my favorite scenes to write! 
Chione shrugged. “Your heart was in the right place, others of your kind were not.”
Her words did not hurt less than a dagger to Rhun’s heart. “Were my people involved in this?”

“He thinks this illusion is Sora.” Dainzel was aghast. “He thinks Czarclana is Sora.”
“More importantly, he thinks we are harming his love.” Calozel darted to her side and grabbed her arm. “And he intends to kill us.”
“They are still fixing the hole in the wall you made flying through the housing tower, and that lady who lived in that tower housing unit you flew through told you that if you wanted to visit you could have just knocked.”
“Are you done? I asked you to forget that event or you’ll go patrolling the sewers.”
"You mean like like?"
"Yeah," Peter exhaled. His eyes fell down, but a small smile reheated the room.
“And who decrees what is natural?” The witch snorted. “I have the power and skill to bend nature to my will. And why should I not? Why should we allow ourselves to be imprisoned by what we cannot control?”
“For order, and peace... and love.” She told the witch as she nocked an arrow.
When she finished, I waited a minute more before trying to calm her down. “Nice song.” I whispered, careful to not wake the kid. “I haven’t heard that in a while.”
Her apprehension was palpable, but I just kept my eyes shut, resting them as we spoke. “I…” she paused, as if she wasn’t sure she wanted to continue speaking. “Are you ever not half-awake?” Samara’s tone was playful, but her emotions were betraying her.
“Why is the door locked, Jack-Jack?” There was the briefest pause before he began his interrogation. “Is there a woman in there?”
I held back laughter as I opened the door to a very tired, but wide-eyed roommate. “No, Gavin, there is no woman in here.”
“The... Arc Li-Lighter... saved us.” He said with effort.
“Yes, he did.” She nodded, fighting back tears. The Alvaine never wept.
“You just… saved me,” he muttered in disbelief when he realized what just happened, he didn't really mean to say it out loud like that but he already did. “Er, thank you.”
“No, I didn’t,” she said, a little defensive and at the same time he thanked her.
From a future chapter:
“Stop being nervous, I’m not gonna snog you this time,” Crowley blurted out with a snort, even though he tried to be suave about it. Well, he just went there, no taking it back now.
A dark blush spread from Aziraphale’s neck towards his cheeks. “I don’t, I didn’t think - wouldn’t -”
“The magisters!” Kadrek offered, shrugging. “We find and slay them, and then these things will stay dead.”
“If we can find them...” Gazrek gritted his teeth. “...in this miasma of madness.”
“Hold your tongue, Commander.” Kadrek couldn’t stop himself. “You know it is the Bolt Thrower that is ensorcelled. The Alvaine Arc Lighter fights him to stop this madness.”
“That is no way to address your commander, you grunt.” Eldrek rounded on him. “But this is war and I will let that by. But be wary the next time, Kadrek.”
“Really? Then… Let’s get married!”
“N-NO!!!”, he sputtered out as his cheeks flushed a light pink. What did she expect him to say—yes?!
"Hey, Mikael! What brings you to the Hearthstone?" Ariel asked. Usually, Mikael helped with relations concerning others. Sometimes, people either steal or harass the group, and the big man, Mikael, hinders that from happening.
“I just wanted to tell you that we may have to go to the precinct tonight," Mikael sighed. "But first, something happened on our way back from the fire station."
