“She must be something really special.” Maedra went on in a low voice, much to Kadrek’s amusement.
“Why does that matter?” Yuma asked her sister with a wide grin. “Do you want Arden for yourself?”

"So no, I don’t intend to waste a minute of life on fear.” As she spoke, she had unconsciously planted her feet in a wide stance that emphasized her words.
Bron, faced by her steadfast decision, had no answer. He envied that kind of reckless goal.
-I guess Bron doesn't say anything here, but his silence speaks volumes so I included it.
She made a sound, muffled by the gag. Was it laughter? Was she mocking him?
“Are you amused, little one?” He growled in the common tongue, so that she may understand and fear him.
“That warrior was hunting us down after we raided their outpost a few days ago.” Malach yawned and slid further back against the wall. “He has gone now... gone back to where he came from with the lopped off heads of our slain kin.”
“You were responsible for all this from the beginning?” Okarg gnashed his teeth. “I curse the day I considered you and your mangy pack for allies.”
“We can share her amongst us before any others get here.” Malach’s gravelly voice cut into his thoughts.
“What makes you think I would consider sharing anything with you, fool?” He growled at the other Laichanan.
“Mark, you’re lucky to have Lynn cook for you everyday,” Sandra said, her voice muffled by the food in her mouth.
She grinned at the man, expecting him to agree and voice his contentment. But when he returned her smile, the flicker of anger in his eyes caused a chill to settle in her bones.
“Today’s dinner is special, actually.” Mark tossed a side glance at his wife. “Normally we have leftovers. Sometimes, she doesn’t even cook.”
Malach’s slanted eyes gleamed with malice. “A better plan would be to eat her now and use her blood to lure in the others.”
“Fool!” Leragh laughed. “Once we have devoured her, we will no longer have her fresh blood to bait the others.”
“What...” Her throat hurt. “...will you do to... me?”
“You are a remarkably talented young woman.” The gaunt lord of Sidusca grinned, his narrow face inches away from hers. “I may have a use for you.”

“ Uh-huh. If I go into Windmeier, will I be arrested?” said Robin. “ Won't it be trespassing? Should we be getting permission from the cops first?”
“ What are you worried about? I'm the only one old enough to be arrested,” said Ezra.

(it's three lines of dialouge hahaha)
"I want you to know something before I go," said Dracious.
"What," asked Matthew in a shaky voice.
Dracious looked back up and stared at Matthew's face. "I loved you too."
“Are you certain this is the way?” Someone was asking in the common tongue, just ahead of her.
"This is the way."
From my BL Fantasy novel:
“And why not?” he said. “From what I hear, you are not opposed to fighting with other men. Do you prefer the men from Fooja?”
“I… don’t prefer…” I was unsure how to finish the sentence. His words felt like a trap.
“You don’t prefer men?” he said. “Funny — you are very good at pretending otherwise.”
“Who else did you make a puppet of?” Esamus stepped closer to her.
“Many of your aides and subordinates.” She glared back at him.
“No, I mean... what you said before.” He shook his head and looked back at the semi-conscious golden haired girl in the Diabane’s massive arms. “Will Sora die?”
“She will...” Dainzel nodded, gesturing at the Diabane. “...if that one does not let me treat her wounds.”
“Last time I told you to stay put, you drove explosives into a castle wall to kill me. Then you’ve robbed me.”
Oh, so he knows about the money… how tactful of him not to bring it up earlier.
“This time, I promise… no, I swear I will listen to you. I will stay behind, barricade myself, have a gun ready…”
“Questions!” Muiranda nodded. “Too many questions, and so little time to answer them all.”
“I see no other purpose for me to be here unless you have something you want from me.” Iola clenched her jaw. “So answer me.”
She groaned, the throb strengthening just slightly as she opened her eyes and looked over to the iron-wrought barred window, "Day…? The night it was, wasn't it?"
"Ev-Eva, you were knocked ou-out for a week." Jayce released a sigh, leaning forward as his knobby elbows rested on his lanky legs, "Je-Jesus, we-we almost thought you'd stay-stay in a coma."
“Back to the weaponized amphibians, I’m a fan of your work, what inspired it? I know Heather can be a pushy flirt, but you really knocked her out of orbit,” Evan said, using his hands while he talked for emphasis. Jack groaned and rubbed at his face.
“She’s mad, isn’t she?” He asked, already knowing the answer.
“Go back to the village?” Arden sounded aghast. “But it’s an absolute ruin... it pains me to...”
“Arden.” Yuma stepped up to the tall boy. “Maedra and I would like see our home... one more time before we go east.”
“What else can you hear?” Arden touched her arm as he ran beside her.
“Breathing and sounds of pain...” She replied, looking straight ahead. “The person is hurt.”
“You are Alvaine...” Sora reached out to touch her hand. “And you saved my life.”
“Your friends did, when they rescued you from the Laichanan.” She told the mystified girl. “I just happened to have the required cure for Laichanan claw wounds.”
This is from the second episode of "A Sun of Ice," which comes out on Saturday.
“You need us to help… you?” Navsi said, eyebrows arched, body leaning forward, sitting on the very edge of the sofa.
“That’s right,” said Skuld, the old woman with the book. “You may find this surprising or hard to believe, but we are not as powerful as we once were… No, this we cannot do alone.”
“Yes, six younglings, not yet ten years... Yuma and I kept them hidden with us in the Dark Forest.”
“She knows that...” Yuma snapped brusquely. “If she really was the one who killed those half-beasts about to eat us.”
“I’m getting out of here. I won’t tell anything about your freakish powers to the cops. Just stay the hell away from me. You freaky magicians.” Leticia warned the two of them that is when Amelia walked up to Leticia’s face again.
“Good. I just hope the leader of your band kicks you out for your shitty attitude.” Amelia spat, then Leticia cackled in response before she walked off.
“Bitch… I AM the leader of the band! Have a nice day.” Leticia smirked at Amelia, then she turned around to walk away.
“How many of us are we now?” Hari asked him as they stuffed all the food they could find into the already bulging sacks.
“You, Terek and I. Rubia, Maedra, Yuma and Sora. That’s seven of us, and the six young ones. And Kadrek and the Alvaine.”
“I bet that every boy she meets ends up falling hopelessly in love with her.” Yuma said, without any kind of envy as she sat under a tree. “She’s almost as enchanting as a fairy tale creature.”
“Yes, she is quite pretty.” Maedra sighed, sitting beside her sister. “But wouldn’t you think that there’s something strange about her.”
“What, your guts are wrestling before lunch again?” A rueful shake of the graying head went with an indulging spark in her brown eyes. “Skinnier than a tapeworm, like you don’t vacuum up everything in sight. Well, lemme see if I can fix something for you, ragamuffin.”
“Actually, I’m full,” he said, savoring her response in advance.
