“I knew you could master the spell.” The wizard looked at the bard, her fingers stroked the back of her hand before squeezing it.
Eliza cheeks coloured at the sudden touch, a small smile breaking out.
“I didn’t want to dismiss him since it took me so long to summon him. I was unsure if I’d be able to bring him back again.” She muttered quietly, her pinky intertwining with Julia’s, her free hand playing with her hair as she stole looks at the tall woman.
“Well met, Dainzel. I know of you as well and also recall that you are an outcast.” Calozel replied dourly. “And some your of present companions are among our sworn enemy.”
“Heed me, Calozel.” The Alvaine healer pleaded with her kinsman in their own tongue. Kadrek was familiar with the dialect they spoke in, and he could understand what was being said.
She took a deep breath before speaking again, “Darren, did you really see Cho with an older guy? She was backstage with her band. What the hell are you talking about? People always talk about things and it doesn’t mean it’s true! So, just drop it.”
“Fine.” Darren ended the conversation.

“Dainzel knows what she is doing.” Kadrek had to tell him.
“But what is she doing?” Yuma stepped up beside the fuming Arden.
He lifted his head slightly, managing the weight of the despicable collar on his neck, "Go…go to hell."
"I'll be there soon. I just want to spend my life here…with you."

“This is some trick to keep us away from the treasure.” He heard Hari whisper.
“Aye, that means we are on the right path.” Terek nodded.
“You’re seeing her?” Eliza looked up at Julia, she could tell she didn’t like Ursula. Eliza pulled a small cotton cloth out of her pocket and wiped her mouth.
“Not for much longer.” Eliza responded.

“I don’t see the sense in me going.” The cloaked figure argued. “Perhaps an advance party of newly ensnared underlings could...”
“Silence, worm!” The terrifying voice fell like a whip crack. “I will not squander my creations on the task set for you. Do as you are commanded or else.”
“Ashtsu Llehti... uh... ekat em kcab.. ot Sulbarom.” The frail creature uttered through bleeding teeth.
"What are...?" Okarg did not know what those words were, and it hardly mattered as he curled his iron hard fingers around his victim’s skeletal neck.
“Who are you?” He asked in the common tongue.
“My lord? ...I am Pumurlanot, overseer of this sector, my lord.” The squat creature kept his face close to the ground. “What does your lordship wish of me?”
He felt something in him shatter, sobs heaving from his mouth, “I never wanted you to hurt me! I WANTED YOU TO LOVE ME!”
“I love you.”

“Good boy”, chuckled Rhunal as she approached the skeleton. It shook its weapon angrily at her in response.
“Good job, Frank.” she corrected, and he nodded slowly in her direction in return.

“Are you headed to town?”
“Yeah. My mum sent me on an errand.” He lowered his voice as he looked at his feet.
The conversation came to an abrupt halt. Having recomposed herself, Sandra studied the awkward teen. She recalled him as being the odd one out in her class. Isolated and an outcast. With his demeanor, she presumed the others picked on him too.
Outside of class, he was even more of a sloppy dresser, with a sweat pants and tee that had a small stain. She guessed he wasn’t the kind to care about appearances either way. Noticing him shuffle from one foot to another, she followed his gaze to her exposed thighs. Instinctively, she took a step back and slung her bag to the front to cover a little of her skin.
“Hey.” She brought his attention back to her face. “I guess you need to make a move?”
“Humaine captives from a recent raid to the north.” He heard Pumurlanot snivel. “My lord.”
“Humaine!” That made him sit up straight with irksome interest. “Take me there, Pum. Now!”
“Hm, this she... what is she?” He asked softly, suddenly dreading being there altogether.
“My lord!” Pumurlanot shook violently. “...this one has never ...seen anything like she who must not be named before in his miserable life.”
“Aye, the Diabane... the greatest warriors to...” The man continued.
“The Diabane are nothing more than stone cutters and gold miners...” The sinister voice bore into the man’s words. “Echtor, chieftain of Anglathe... your Diabane allies are not even a shadow of the great warriors they once were fabled to be.”
“So, how was your trip?” Dana’s tone changed to a calmer manner, which made Leticia’s eyebrow raised.
“Now you want to be nice to me…?” Leticia remarked. She crossed her arms as she saw her cousin heading towards her

“You think a naive beginner is any match for me?” Muiranda’s eyes began to glow red. “I who spent half a lifetime mastering the craft of mind control?”
“I know I am, and I believe so.” Iola smiled at her without mirth. “My Gift has not been corrupted as yours has, despite your training. I am pure, and within me is the knowledge and experience of the Starlight legacy.”
He trembled, the rage leaving only desperation, “I-I need you…to-to touch me…”
Ira chuckled, but there was that growl laced underneath, her head turning slowly, “You said some very mean things just now.”

“You mean you killed the one who wielded it before you.” Her languorous smile made his heart swell, among other things.
“I did, and with ease.” His red eyes shone with pride and he stood up erect.
“Strong willed or overly important Humaine make very poor Predakren.” She told him as she waved at the captured villagers. “Not unlike the great chieftain of Anglathe here. Slay him for me. That is your test.”
“With pleasure.” He couldn’t believe his incredible fortune. All he had to do was kill this starving and tortured Humaine to keep his position here in service at this, the most favourable thing to ever happen in his miserable life.

" The blood king hums as he and his generals look over the map of the land “so we destroyed the den and they ran, but to where?” His voice is low and dark. His blood-red hair has black tips and his eyes are black and red like ones of a demon.
One of his generals looks to him with a frustrated glance “they could have gone anywhere your highness.”
He stroked his chin before nodding, "What about any other superhuman abilities? We should begin that phase of testing."
She relaxed, tapping her fingers against the cracked wood, "Well, we can rule out super strength. No psychic abilities."
“Once an impenetrable fortress.” Kadrek stated. “Nothing but a derelict shell now.”
“Perfect place to hide treasure.” Eldrek was grinning wide. “If you’d like to keep seekers away.”
“Wait.” Rhunal’s footsteps rapidly approached. “I think nothing has control over it anymore. It’s just twitching like a headless chicken.”
Bron raised his dagger once more, “Well lets not take that chance.” A small rock on a jet of wind shot out from Rhunal’s palm and smashed the dagger out of his hand. It missed his fingers, but that didn’t make him less angry. “Are you out of your mind?”
Bron and Rhunal argue about the best way to finish off what is left of a rock golem.

“Yes, this is Scruffy.” Yuma nodded and placed her arms around her as Maedra sobbed like a mother reunited with a lost child. “And he’s saved us... again.”
“You have... tamed a Laichanan?” Calozel was befuddled. “Now I have seen everything.”
