I'm in the middle of doing backgrounds right now... I regret it to draw so many bg's in this ep :frowning:

My goddess characters from my comic already get a lot of comparisons to steven universe, so why not make it worse. I literally hopped out of bed to sketch the idea down in my sketchbook.

Page 12 of my comic (they get uploaded in 4-5 page chunks)

A panel from my wip comic. I've got this issue where girls/woman are very anime but men look more realistic. Heritage of a yaoi fan artist past, haha. But I like the contrast

I love seeing everyone's WIPs, it always makes me feel like I'm on the right track!

I'm a masochist and I render my comics from the sketch entirely in Adobe Illustrator (the sketch I do in Procreate - might be getting Clip Studio just for panelling and arranging sketches in, we'll see).

Each element of my drawings are made up of individual shapes that I manually draw either with the pen tool or with a series of shape-tools and pathfinder tools or clipping masks. My sketch looks like this:

Wire frames of my shapes looks like this:

And put all together (minus speech bubbles) with fills and strokes visible, it looks like this:

Omg definitely it's a lot of work but ends up so clean and pretty
