Obviously I gotta show off my favorite leading lady Kyara here! Though whether her bodytype is different enough from the stereotype I'll leave up to the public (but I think she counts! :triumph:)

I have character who used to be a princess! She’s only shown up in astral projection form so far in the comic, as one does, but I have drawn just fun concepts of her. Here’s Chariot in princess mode. She becomes a pretty pivotal character in later arcs. >:0 although I guess she is more or less hourglass but she’s not thin. In the current timeline she is the partner of one of leads, Lady Lock.

All three of my main girls have different body types (and one of them is even a princess, but it's a spoiler so I wont say who. It's not who you think it is.)

So there's Ravening...

Ravening is built like a bowling pin. Very light top, bottom heavy. I also tried to give each of them unique and unconventional facial features so she has a big round nose.

There's Ragna...

Ragna is a little rectangle of muscle and stubby limbs. Shes the polar opposite of the typical super leggy/thin anime girl and was inspired by how female gymnasts are commonly built. She also has massive ears and an upturned nose.

and finally Randy...

Randy is a tall gangly beanpole. She has the opposite build of Ragna. As the magic user of the three she also has next to no muscle. Randy's facial features are all from her being a fish-girl (no nose, big shiny black eyes, fin ears).

My goal was not to look at any of this as physical flaws, but traits that make them unique. Also its just good character design to have recognizable silhouettes, which was also important to me.

Ok it’s just a sketch but it’s all I had :sob: ignore the guy screaming in the corner. I left him because funny.

She’s just a lil stick.

Hello! My comic book has a female lead that's also a princess, so I guess she fits the boot! Here she is, in all her glory:

And here's some baby pictures too cause why not:

Her name is Renee, and she's a magical space alien princess! My story follows her on her quest to find self love!
Feel free to check my comic, VS Myself, out on Tapas!

Okay..well, this character isn't gonna appear until the first story finishes...but Charlie Horse! Mutant hunter Extraordinaire.

Here we have Alicia Palmero at 4'9, she's also a lot browner than is typically the beauty standard, being Navajo and Mexican. (after the point of the story this was based on, she also has a lot of scars on her back and legs)

OC from the new series me and @EMJI are working on:

I'd also like to take this moment for a teeny-weeny teaser:

It's about time girls with this style aren't portrayed as rough or aggressive.

also these chicks, tbh, i draw a lot of chunky queens. they're so pretty!

This is my lady, Lyza.

Lyza is somewhat muscular and still at fit level. I don't want her going overboard just to keep her very feminine. At first, she looked bulkier but as time went on and my art started to improve. She started to look more feminine and softer. She's not a big girl and not petite... she's very average looking on the smaller size. She's about 5'4/5'3.

Sky.
She doesn’t weigh anything. She’s a ghost.

She might be 2 lbs? Lol, but she's not exactly hourglass either. Tatiana naturally is very fast and strong due to natural ability and her training to be a superhero.

She wouldn't of had her awesome Zebra parts except for the suggestion of the buddy who helped me come up with this version of her! Tatiana's very exciting to write for and draw!

Also, WHY DOES THIS COMIC TAKE SO LONG TO DO?! GEEZ!!

I definitely love fitness and promoting healthier body types. I'm planning to make a comic strip about this in future actually.

Flo from Hawk and Flo Adventures would count. As would Aluta Continua from the upcoming Phantom Force 3000 ^^.

8 days later

My itsy bitsy cannibal Mad, and her she-behemoth bestie.

Teaser for OCs debuting in "Hushabye Prince" this June.

Mad is five feet tall, Hallie is 6'0. High-key the most fictional part of this story is that Hallie can still find skirts that reach down to her ankles.

My protagonist Andrea from the upcoming webcomic2, which will be launched on this Wednesday.
She may looks tough and brooding, but is actually just anxious and gay :pensive:

fair point lol, also glasses and red hair are not beauty standards

not her final design, no I'm not going to give her the hour glass body type (her uncle already has it), besides I need to find a way to make her look like a 14 year old for her comic. also she's a secondary character in the main comic but she'll have her spin off, that's why I'm adding her.
Also adding her best friends and other leading characters (also up to redesign) + her aunt

This is closer to a finalized version of Kimberly Clarke (which I just realized is almost the exact same name as a brand of paper-towel dispensers. but it's spelled differently so it's fine...right?) (someone is so totally gonna comment on that in something aren't they?)

Excuse the face on the side

In the older version of DS I had Freya, the jacked fighting princess of the aesir elves. It never came up in the story but she was technically royalty. She was like nearly 7 feet tall and was a solid wall of muscle.

Poppy Firebird is a 15-year-old with an unknown condition causing her brain to slowly lose higher functions, with her character development largely focusing on her attempting to find an antidote or cure for her condition. She's rather timid by nature, and although forgetful and slow to react at times, she tries her best to make do

Daisy Firebird is the bigger sister of Poppy. Although stronger-willed and more physically capable, she frequently gets overwhelmed and suffers panic attacks. Because of this, she keeps what's left of her father on a necklace, so that she may grasp it for inner strength in dire times. Her character arc largely focuses on trying to find her little sister after being separated for so long <.<

19 days later

Jen, middle aged, but retains a straight, slender body.

Bell, on the other hand, is curvy.

My female lead (Iris) is skinny, but not by choice. She's often seen wearing cowl-neck or decorative tops to make up for her lack of assets up top. :joy:

lol. that's a thing too I suppose. I've given chubby chicks a lot of air time, maybe I should switch over to the lean protein ladies soon

I've mostly just drawn chubby girls, so I thought it was time to switch it up. Here's a a dryad, not an hourglass clearly

And here's a fairly trim little person princess
