We've just started to release our comic STEPPERS, taking the public domain version of Mickey and redefining the character as a revolutionary freedom fighter turned capitalist icon. Without spoiling too much, it riffs off of Steamboat Willie as a fantastical version of Mickey's life, where a corporation took his likeness and turned it into something else entirely.
We want to explore political resistance, identity and how the ownership of creativity is at odds with the creative process itself. Anyway, I do hope we can do it justice, and if you'd like to follow along with it, you can check out the first chapter below!
