A soothsayer peaks through space and time to answer the question: is Frans Dahl dying or already dead? Yashar Alizadeh wears many identities in the world. A professional dancer. A gay man. A perpetual expat. An adoptee. Most acutely, around Frans Dahl, he feels like his grandmother's charge. His grandmother--the crone, the sage, the soothsayer; the one who taught him how to recognise and ward against evil. When Yashar meets Frans he's confronted with whether to heed the practice he was taught as a child or to give himself fully to the 'real' world. The one in which he's on the receiving end of Frans' crush and Frans is just a man--not dead, not dying, but alive and seeking a potential future with him.
