Coby smiled up at him. “I know,” he whispered. “It just…”
“Isn’t time, yet,” Ash finished for him with a soft chuckle. “I get it.” He caressed Coby’s cheek with the backs of his fingers, unfurling them into the beautiful blue waves that dragged them in without complaint. “Why is that, though?”
Coby shrugged with a tiny shake of the head. “I don’t know,” he admitted. “It’s more than just a question of my virtue, it’s…fate, I guess? I can’t really explain it. It’s almost like knowledge I didn’t know I had, a plan that was already in place we have to follow through with or else chaos might ensue.”
Ash snorted softly. “You think the world might come to an end if we had s*x today instead of when we’re meant to?”
“No,” Coby laughed. “I mean there’s more that’s meant to happen when we finally do. Like I said, I can’t really explain it.”
