Ash nodded. “It’s a straight shot down from the edge of the cliff,” he said, drawing a line down the map. “There are a bunch of jagged rocks at the bottom, so I don’t recommend anyone falling off, Sarathian or not. If you’re lucky enough to miss them, the water is about thirty feet or so deep and there are hidden caverns carved into the wall where some unfriendly creatures like to hang out.”
“Like what?” Rem asked.
“Sea demons,” Coby said. “They’re disgusting little scavengers that will rip you apart the second they spot you. At least, these ones are.”
“There are tons of sea demons out there,” Gema said. “Even monsters and dragons.”
A muscle under Mika’s eye twitched. Rem noticed but she said nothing.
“These guys are worse,” Abel said. “The last time someone got too close to this area, all we found were the parts they didn’t want washed up on the nearby beach.”
A low chorus of disgusted groans washed through the crowd.
“Noted,” Hemi said with a nod, his face green. “Avoid the water.”
