Hi! Hope this topic hasn't been made too recently. I was accepted to sell some merch at a very small comic convention in my hometown - it's this weekend, and I'm super excited, but a thought keeps crossing my mind: I kind of want to talk about my comic while I'm there, but I'm still fleshing out the script, only have a few designs nailed down, and I'm not sure if I'm being WAY too over-eager about it or not.
I've had it in the works for over decade, but I've been dragging my heels until recently due to working and some mental health stuff. Now that I'm freelancing full time, I've been turning eagerly to the comic's development between gigs and commissions and I'm making TONS of progress at last. c: This comic is happening whether it gets a lot of attention, earns me any cash, life goes swell, or not (well, barring me dying ;p ), so I'm not worried about talking about something and then not following through - but I'm curious to know if others feel it would be worth talking about it or bringing any promotional material for a comic when it's still quite early in its development.
I've seen others do this, some who just have a link to their online spaces and teasers for their characters, and others who go way into depth talking about development, where they are, struggles they've faced, etc (like on social media). Has anyone ever done anything similar? If so, what did you talk about? What did you show? Did you describe it very loosely (my gut feeling in case something major changes, which SHOULDN'T happen c': ) or were you very honest about its general synopsis...etc?
Thanks for any advice c': I such a lil noob.
