I was too sick to go to health class in highschool so the most we had in later years was a AIDS documentary and then afterwards a bunch of gay dudes and ladies screaming about "STOP HAVING UNPROTECTED RISKY SEX YOU FUCKHEADS". and then show all the meds they're on and look pissed with everyone.

NYC education system.

I live in the American South, so high school health classes here lack pretty much all substance. The gist of them is that abstinence is the only way to prevent pregnancies and that any form of sexual relations not between a married man and woman is wrong.

It probably depends a lot on where you are. I mean, a lot of programs are still teaching 'abstinence only', so I think expecting a lesson on homosexuality is a bit much.

I was out sick the week in middle school when this was covered, so I missed a lot of it, but I don't think that was really mentioned.
I skipped the 'health' class and just took an abbreviated version online. Sex ed was barely mentioned, I don't think homosexuality was ever touched on.
It's a good thing I'm ace and don't really need to know this stuff, because now that I think about it I got basically no sex ed in school.

Think of it this way: no matter what you write, it'll probably be plausible (although you could use it as an interesting indicator of what the prevailing views in the area are).

My high school didn't. (Graduated about 10 months ago) But we didn't talk about heterosexual relationships entire. We just talked about safe sex in general, and to not have sex or else you will be doomed to a life of suffering.

Sex ed for us was basically just one documentary, separated to boy edition and girl edition. Nothing about homosexuality.

Maybe they wanted us to learn it naturally? XD
