June is, well, a swordmaster. She didn't study from any traditional Japanese school in particular, but her training mostly falls under kenjutsu (with a side of iaijutsu). In terms of her moveset she's actually extremely diverse, blending clinch tactics, binding, cuts and thrusts into a unified doctrine of bloodshed, steely nerves, and grit. Her favorite technique, if she has one, is probably hand-sniping, something which takes a lot of precision but ends fights extremely quickly.
That being said, her general strategy shifts heavily towards agility and aggression if she's forced to fight with her other weapons. Fighting with a wakizashi in particular tends to end up in twitch parries, dodges, and countercuts with a great deal of grappling to wrap the package together.
Aside from that, she's not completely useless unarmed, though she certainly lacks any serious stopping power in such a case. Her immense skill in swordsmanship provides her a solid mastery of the two most important factors of combat: distance and timing.
Compared to that, Bruce Anders is just your average guy who happened to take a self defense class once or twice after he saw monsters kill his best friendâhe's not even particularly physically fit for the job. While he lacks raw competency in combat, he's most certainly a survivor and as such is able to use the environment to his advantage, whether that means pocket sand or using a trash can lid to get himself out of harm's way, or grabbing a convenient piece of wood at an abandoned construction site in the interest of not dying.
