I became a vegetarian in the fall of 2009/2010, it was crazy hard at first but i wanted to change first cause of my love of animals, but as time goes on i felt that i was getting healthier and i was eating better. (aka i was eating more fruit and veggies from the switch in stead of only meat!)now i do still eat seafood and dairy so i guess not completely vegetarian, i tried being vegan it was impossible, i love sweets WAY TOO MUCH!!! my sister is a meat-lover so i never hold it against anyone, cause i use to be a meat lover.
there are some REALLY good soy-meat alternatives out there! (i figure that if anyone is interested in trying them out ) My personal favorites (i live in Ohio/America so some some may not be where you live)
-Morning Star-Boca-Simple Truth-Amy's-Gradin-Quorn-Beyond meat-Carla Lee's-Kashithere's more I've never tried yet! ^_^
No way, I need my meat. I need my balanced diet.
Quorn Not available were I live, but when I'm traveling I always eat some. It's not soy though, it's fungi. Also there are a lot of gluten-based fake meats.
I've been a vegetarian since 2012.
Best life desicion I ever made, I became healthier too.
But my reason was sudden. A truck passed by, transporting pigs to slaughter and I felt bad/sad for those pigs, then realised I was currently eating something with pig in it. I never finished that dish xD
I doubt I'll ever go back to eating meat unless really necassary (like a sudden zombie apocalypse or something 8D ) But in our current day and age with countless meat replacements I don't see the need to eat actual meat.
If others want to go Vegan I've got no issue with it (As with anything, as long as it's not shaved in my face or used an excused to act like they're better with it)
But me personally I could never go Vegan. I came from a family that struggled when I was younger so we ate whatever we had available and that included meat. Plus I could never get over how much I enjoy the taste of meat, regardless of how many slaughterhouse videos I've been sent over the years (Which are still pretty horrible and I would prefer these animals were treated far better)I dunno I guess me caveman eating a hunk of mutton right off the bone.
Just adding to your list, Fry's stuff is really good! And Linda McCartney!
I love meat too much to go vegan
For a time I used to eat the Morningstar veggie sausage links- I'm not a super big sausage person, and DEF NOT a pork sausage eater at all. Now days I'll eat Delia's Chicken Sausage- they also have 2 restaurants here where I live. When I do go to a con downtown, I usually try to hit up one of the locations on the east side(I used to live in that area) and get a chicken sausage meal or their chicken sausage chili.
I've heard of Boca burgers and stores here sell Kashi as well.
i haven't seen fry's but I'll have to look for it!
oh really! that's neat! i hope to go to other cities to try out other vegetarian places
