Errant: Prologue recap:
We join three young people as they enter a battle-scarred and overgrown ruin. Urien, a confident young knight, and his two teenage squires, Sarin, who is conscientious and magically talented, and Rekki, an energetic tomboy without much ability. The squires raise concern about the haunted nature of the ruin, but Urien talks Rekki around because he's stolen some intel from his aunt, a famous knight, saying that there are demons in the area, and he has a hunch that this could help boost Rekki's lacking magical abilities.
They enter the ruin, an abandoned facility from the Third Age of knights, Rekki enters a chamber and sees.... the legendary sword, Excalibur! The blade which Rekki's grandmother and Urien's aunt fought to put in the stone to end the third age of knights and drain the magic from the world. Urien suggests starting the fourth age, which really upsets Sarin, then claims it was just a joke.
Suddenly! Imps! Low level demons appear! Rekki and Sarin fight them together and win! Urien congratulates them, but also warns them that over-reliance on each other to cover for their own flaws is dangerous, and reminds them that a Knight represents the strength of their country, Brittania. A voice agrees from the shadows, praising his wisdom.... It's an eight foot tall demon!
