This is still a WIP but I'm redoing Texas design because I'm not satisfied with it. I'm gonna make her blonde from now on and just make a comment on the change in the comic since it's meta anyway. I'm also giving her more curves since people keep confusing her for kid TT

Her name is Texas, why don't you include any Texas elements in her design?

Rip flat queen representation :skull:

Or you can do like me n hairdye route for blonde hair maybe? though I wouldn't know how to use in-story to explain the curves :joy: You're right, can always make a comment about the design update, think readers would be cool with that
@jwabeasley Texas element sound cool, love to see those types of personal history on the character design, unless you prolly have your reason for the name already :art: The leaf design on top and detail under her eye are awesome too (is that a tattoo?) keep it up! :grinning:

Her name is Texas because of her parents, she's not leaning into it, she doesn't have the state pride her folks do. they are very patriotic, she's not

@stiatent yeah, hair dye would be easy enough to explain. canonically her hair is dyed blue anyway, but it looks way better blue than it does light imao. also glad you like the moon-sun on her face that was already there. it's makeup. she has tons of tats but not on her face. the leaf design is because she's very boho-hippie

Lolz good one! Jokes on us :joy: Happi Belated April then!

That's an interesting reason for her name as it plays into her differing views with the parents
My real name is Emerald and never liked it growing up though I cool with it now lol, they wanted to name their kid after a gem, now they end up calling me by nickname instead, so somewhat relatable lolz
Yep moon-sun makeup and boho fashion is awesome, love those ornate types of prints Boho fashion uses :art:

@Leyelle You got us! I'd never expect April Fools on the 2nd!

The contrast is interesting - I have a character in the current chapter going by the nickname TexAnne but it's almost the opposite situation:

I wasn't a fan of my name growing up either. Gloria Mesa is so common a name for hispanics. but my middle name, Lael is rarer. I still change the spelling for marketing purposes tho

she's a diehard I see XD. It's actually kind of funny that Texas's parents are so loyal because they're only first gen Americans. her grandparents came over from france

And yeah, lol. I missed april fools but I still wanted to prank everyone

I'm right with you in the common names department, my parents weren't and aren't very creative or flamboyant. I am, though. All MY kids have fun names.

@Leyelle Lolz u an me both then, yep you're right Lael is rare, 1st time hearing that name and Leyelle is such a cool spin on it :star2:
Story of my wacky username is that I covered my eyes n typed a bunch of letters on microsoft word, then deleted some XD

@jwabeasley TexAnne looks awesome the star on chest is a neat touch, super cool seeing how both of your characters have a different take on it :art:

My middle name is pretty rare fortunately, so I use that one for marketing purposes. A few of my siblings have much less common/more unique names, but mine is arguably the most common one. I hope when I have kids I'll be able to give them names that will help them stand out lol

Our limits on uniqueness were that a kid should be able to spell it themselves at the age of 6.

But I hear you, there's a reason I go by my initials with an extra letter in there. There's half a dozen other people with my first, middle, and last name that are of middling fame, no relation.
