So, the tragedy of losing Rob Reiner, the director, and his wife is really getting me to reflect on a lot of great movies back from the 80s, 90s and even the recent "Spinal Tap II: The Final End". This is going to show how I'm a 70s kid, but grew up watching him play "Meathead"(Archie Bunkers son-in-law) on the "All in the Family" TV show. Then, he disappeared behind the camera and directed "When Harry Met Sally", "Stand By Me", "The Princess Bride" "This is Spinal Tap", just to name a few classic movies that have influenced so many after. Of course, he directed some Stephen King stories, like "Misery". He was an amazing story teller and visionary.
I was wondering if any other creators/writers were having some reflective moments at his loss. And of course, the investigation is continuing to what happened, but really trying to just think of how he has influenced story telling through his movies. Also, just reading a lot of the comments that celebrities that knew him has been heartbreaking. Wil Wheaton's blog post sums it up nicely.
