Bombed, invaded, and fractured by civil war, the land is now a tangled patchwork of authoritarian Communities, rogue cartels, defiant Reservations, and overgrown ruins teeming with new life and old dangers. Poisonous air drifts from shattered volcanoes. Wolves howl from the rooftops of sunken cities. And in the shadows, those who refuse to belong to any faction carve their own pathsโor die trying.
Jo is one of them.
Raised in a resistance stronghold and trained by warriors, smugglers, and scientists, Jo wears cloth to hide her identity, binds her chest, and moves through the world like a ghost. Haunted by captivity and loss, she doesnโt trust easily. Along the way, Jo meets others who have learned to survive: moles who live beneath the earth, rebels rebuilding from ashes, and some who sees Jo for who she really is. Together, they must navigate treacherous terrain, fractured loyalties, and the heavy cost of freedom.
