I plan for there to be mutliple romances in my story but since they are sub-plots the first one isn't going to pop up until around chapter 18 so pretty late. And its a couple that's already together so I get to just write them being cute and supportive of eachother.

Okay...technically three chapters is how long for it took to get the first mention of the love interest, but "romance?" well I suppose it could be implied...if you read into it a bit?

I tend to write about couples who are already in relationships, so you get it from chapter one. The first chapter is establishing the kind of love and affection they have for each other. It's like establishing their "love style".

most of my stories are slow burn lol, at least when romance is the base

I have a couple of these, but not in most of my romances. Rather, I have a lot of couples part of the primary friend groups in my series that are more adventure, comedy and so on.

In my work, the romance was introduced bit by bit, with a dust of inner conflict (due to the characters' complexity and complexions). It started in chapter 4 for Addai and chapter 17 for Mine, but they're still dragging it and solving their complexions until they finally, and safely, figure it out.
The romantic scenes are mixed with angst, fluff (+ teasing), and action moments hehe~

In "A Dozen Morning Glories" it takes three, but to be fair, it was originally all supposed to be one chapter that ended up being very very long. XD.

The romance starts this Saturday. I hope everyone is stoked to meet the ML...he's a little (read: it takes him five minutes to confess) forward so there is not much slow burn leading to this confession XD
