Never thought about this, to be honest.

Apparently all characters are important enough in Eigria: Lume, but if I had to choose, it would be the two knights in chapter 1. It would be the same result if they don't exist.

I hadn't either until recently. A coworker used that in lieu of a less "workplace friendly" metaphor. I'm like, "totally borrowing that, lol."

Lol, my dad used to have a coworker who complained about other people messing with her projects saying something along the lines of "i don't like other people my sandbox." Guess sand is a go to when venting your frustration

Since Jinho and Andrew aren't in book one of "Damsel in the Red Dress" if I had to remove one character from that book too, I'd probably have to remove one of Mrs. Moon's friends...and that friend would probably be Daphne. It would be hard to remove her, because she's so relevant to the scene in "Magenta Flags" but it would be better than removing Jun, because she becomes more relevant later.

I guess the Warden. His purpose is to get punched to increase your time in prison.

Maybe Cooper? She'd have to be replaced with someone else working for the museum, but a different person with a different personality could still have filled her role.

I think all my characters are here for a reason, but if I was forced to remove one, it’d be Hunter. He fills a relatively necessary role in the story, but he takes a long, L O N G while to show up, my friends don’t even like him, and he’s hard to write. Unfortunately his particular narrative purpose is important enough to me, and I like him enough.
His canon backstory is that he fell into a barrel of bud light as a baby and that’s why he’s the way he is.

I want to get rid of Tia Miguelina so much, but it would have completely changed the whole story! I just hate her, she's probably the most overtly villainous character in the story, as of yet, she doesn't seem to be sympathetic in any way.

All I'll spoil is that the evil she did relates to this sentence-

All of a sudden I find myself standing in that plot of roses, in front of Mom’s - Daddy’s house, the way I saw it last, the day after her funeral when I turned my back on that memory for what I hoped would be the last time-

Oooof this is a tough one.

Hmm I'd probably drop Subeya. I oringinally introduced this one unit fighting machine because she seemed a good fit with the others. But I haven't written much about her (yet) so I could probably drop her at this stage. She's a cool person but I really can't form her character and personality in my head (yet).

Oh when I say character I mean appearance (my bad). So appearance and personality... I don't know what she is like exactly. I have a rought sillhouetty kinda idea in my head.

There's a bit of a backstory already written about her in one of the chapters. But no, honestly, I don't have a complete backstory.

I was hoping I'd develop it as I go, but the book is coming to an end in like 10 more episodes I guess, and that's just too little time to develop a her character.

THere will be more books for sure.

So if I, through some miracle, am able to deveop Subeya's character, she'll be te fifth main character of the little group. And she'll feature in the future books. Otherwise I'll just leave her as a side character who reappears now and then in other books.

ahh, okay. well if there will be more books she has plenty of time then. Alicia's little brother is just mentioned in passing only like twice in the first book but he's going to have way more relevance in the upcoming story. if you write multiple books, then it's probably even better not to give too much detail on all of the characters in the first book so people keep coming for the curiosity factor

Not so much for her little brother because his personality was pretty clear from the first moment I thought of him and distinctively unusual, same with his physical appearance.

But I do have some trouble writing his best friend Jinho, and since they are always together, it basically makes them two parts of the same character XD. I know what his personality is like, but executing that feels harder than it needs to be, and I'm legit having a hard time convincing myself to leave the way I wrote him alone, but I'm just going to roll with it, and hope I get better at writing him as I go lol.
