Seasonal Promos

Just out of curiousity, how do you guys promote the next season and/or chapter of your comics, if you even promote it all here on Tapas? I was thinking of doing some sort of promotional art for the next season of The Action Fruit Society since it's just shy of two months away. Would people even comment on your wall at least acknowledging that they know about it, or do people just pretend like they haven't seen it, and then don't read your comics at all once the new season/chapter starts? I notice people don't really comment on other's profile anymore.

Yeah, the profile posts are seen more as a last resource to give a fast communication.

If you want people to remember your work is still there and is going to restart soon, it's better to post in the comic itself.

There people will more likely show signs of being alive and they'll appreciate you doing something special.

In my case, I decided to do a summary (contains NSFW ):

Under Satyr's Orders :: Chap.1 Reminder | Tapas

So half the summary are remarkable panels from the first chapter that help the readers remember what was the story about and at the same time is a stand-alone strip

The wall is more useful to announce a delay, or extreme emergency, but it also works for things that might apply to all of your comics. I'm planning to have a break every chapter, so it does work to announce in the wall when the comic is coming back because the subscribers to both the english and portuguese versions will be able to see it rather than making 2 episodes that'll get deleted anyway. Tapas also recommends not using the comic for announcements but idk if that's enforced.

What's bad in post something that's totally related with your comic despite not being a page itself?

According to the content guidelines:

Announcements: The use of episodes to post non-diegetic announcements are strictly prohibited. Creators are encouraged to utilize their profile page and wall posts to notify their subscribers of announcements pertaining to series information and creator updates.

That's probably not meant to be no announcements, ever, but probably keeping them either at the end of a regular episode or making sure it's actual comic-specific content. It might feel like spam to open your notifications and see ads for another comic entirely or for something else entirely the artist is doing. For those, the wall might be more appropriate because it's your artist page.

If you get that, what's the problem?

Many people only browse Tapas through the app, the big majority of readers won't see your wall posts (that's probably why there's not much interaction there).

If Tapas wanted to encourage more strictly that rule you quoted, they would have to add profile walls to their app first.

I didn't take into account the app, I always just use the browser version to binge. That's a good point for sure.
