Shipping in Other People's Comics (FESS UP)

I love shipping. I do it almost compulsively. But I tend to gravitate towards ships that are a little... iffy... like "it's totally weird that I ship these two and I'm never telling the creator" types of ships. How about you?? Let it out, my ship-happy brothers and sisters!

Do you have ships in other people's comics, perhaps ships that are probably not canon? Not sure if they're heading that way? Too embarrassed to tell the author? FESS UP.

I am usually really not good at this whole shipping thing and end up being very happy with the relationships the creator of the story intended...

... but man, I have to admit that I really ship Vanessa and Edric of Perpetual Flux. And they have barely even met! I guess I just really like that comic a lot.

Even if they don't happen (which it most likely won't) I won't be disappointed much because I just love the comic and look forward to every update.

I wonder if people will end up shipping my characters in the future xD and if I'll get any weird ships.

@Savannah I think if people cared enough about my characters to ship them, it would make me happy lol. Wouldn't even matter who the characters were. :>

@bmacbride Haha maybe they do but won't confess yet? xD My comic isn't far enough in pages for people to start shipping yet. Although I'm probably going to end up sinking a ton of ships without knowing it and my readers might possibly see me as a troll.

I tend to ship whatever's implied first. In comics, I don't remember anything in particular, honestly.

Then I also shipped the female protagonist of Persona 3 with the male one to the point I wrote a fanfiction longer than the Lord of The Rings trilogy and that's probably the weirdest I ship.

When I was tiny I usually shipped any character I liked with me, hahaha.

@scythe It's fandom-speak. "ship" is the short form of "relationship", and shipping characters means imagining them together as a couple. People who do this are called shippers. Beware the ship-wars, which can get ugly.

Not sure whether or not there is a pair that I ship in a Tapastic comic (yet). Outside of Tapastic, one of my fave comics is Todd Allison and the Petunia Violet and all the characters there are so great and ship-able, I just ship everyone with...well, everyone. lmao xD Nah, but really, I ship two of the main characters there cuz they're so cute together.

aw man, I think it would be great if my comic is important enough for people to find any characters they ship xD Then again, I'm still not very far yet into my story either. I did get one message from a reader, though. They asked if two specific characters will be involved in romance with each other and that they'd be happy if I made it happen. I gave them a sort of vague answer, though. haha.

In the early stages of writing I was gonna make them an item, but as I started writing I realized that their personalities clashed too much and they're better off as friends. I don't plan on Maisie having any love interests whatsoever, but I have a few planned for Fatima...

I don't know what it is but I'm a shipping machine when it comes to shows and off-Tapastic comics, I just can't bring myself to ship people's characters on here. Idk what it is, maybe it's because the authors are more approachable and I find it weird to ship characters of authors who post on forums and are active in the community, etc...
