Should I share my comic with people I know personally?

I've recently started my first webcomic ever (Here's the link: https://tapas.io/series/MyLittleWorld) and I don't have many audience yet. I have an instagram page though with 1k followers or so, and I know some of them would gladly check out my comics on tapas. BUT, here's the dilemma:
some of my followers are the people I know personally, including family and relatives. I don't want some of them to know some of the things I shared in my comics. for example: I don't want my mom and dad know I have dropped out of college and don't want to pursue engineering anymore (something I mentioned in "My Little World" first episode)
I want to share my story through comics without censorship and freely express myself. On the other hand introducing my comic in my instagram would be very nice because I really need that first bunch of people that are already interested in my art.
Do you guys have any idea what should I do?
Have anyone had this issue with sharing their story?

Which is more important to you, getting subscribers or keeping your secret from your parents? Family news can spread fast, so if you have multiple family members following you on Instagram, the chances that information will make it back to your parents is high.

You're right. The thing is that maybe I can somehow censor some details so I can share it with more people. Ugh maybe I should just wait a bit.

I wouldn´t share it if it limits your freedom of expression.
The ideal case is that you express yourself without thinking about what other people think and exspect.

Another option is to be totally open to everyone and to have the opinion that they have to deal with it.

There is no good in between option.

If you don't want your parents to read it, don't share it on a platform where your family follows you. People talk.

For the comics like you do (I checked it) it is best if you can express yourself freely.

You are very welcome and it´s also ok to never share it. A lot of people don´t know the songs that I wrote which got published and there are some comics which are intimate, I don´t want people to know that I created them

As far as I know, you can set some of your ig stories to be not displayed for some users. Promote your series in stories and just hide it from your family c:

If you have any stuff you would feel uncomfortable for your friends and/or family to know, don't share your work with them. Your mental health comes first. Also, you may have that one cousin/friend who will rat you out to your parents (trust me even if you don't think you do,you do).
Share it only when you feel 100% comfortable with people knowing everything you put there, even if you censor someone might be like "why did you delete this???"

You're right. One shouldn't share something unless they're 100% ok with anyone knowing it.
I still haven't shared it with anyone yet, but having like 2 readers is kind of depressing

I second @igneriss 's advice. You could easily filter out who sees your story by using the share with only friends feature on Instagram. I was going to say, if the people you know personally has an interest in reading then go for it but after reading this thread I've changed my mind

Don't be discouraged by lil views! I know you created this and wanted others to see it so it's not very motivating when you get little to no feedback but keep your head up. I can't stress it enough how one should not feel the need to put pressure on themselves just to meet the needs of others.

It'll suck the love for your creation right out of you.

You started this for you, ya? Cause you love what you do.

So don't sweat it too much, the low views.

Oh and I'll gladly check out your comic. I'm new on Tapas and have been looking for stuff to read​
