I didn't notice the improvement myself until I finished, but it's kinda gratifying to look back and realize I really have learned something in a year's worth of drawing. Below is a comparison between page 2 and page 96.

Page 2: still getting the hang of Clip Studio, still trying to get out of the default mindset that sketchy = better, didn't care too much about cleaning up lines, just wanted to prove I could draw perspective.

Page 96: more attentive to clean lineart, more familiar with tools in clip studio and more willing to add a gradient to everything. Compared to page 2, the close-up panel is clearly smoother and more carefully shaded, and the action panel is cleaner and more dynamic.

gawd, I've improved over the course of writing this comic, to the point where I've been sneaking back to pages that haven't been updated yet and re-doing them!

New (unfinished) version on the left - I got better at drawing buildings in such a short space of time that I felt I really had to go back and re-do this shot.

page 2 on the left, and page 19 or something on the right - much better at colouring, poses, dynamics, etc. It's a pretty positive feeling to actually see a visible improvement on your work, huh?

OH the difference I've made as I have worked on Flirting With Death...

Early page:
The poses are pretty lame. Anatomy is good, but there are some slip-ups.
The lineart wasn't ugly, but I didn't like it and it made creating pages frustrating. There was just no flow in my lines. Facial expressions are good - they give the realism I want but at the same time many panels lack implication of background, when it should only be facial expression ones. That's just laziness.

Later pages:
Not the latest bc that one has full on nudity in it.
Coloring and lighting are way more attentive and effective, lineart is more distinct and flowing... The colours look great compared to older stuff and anatomy is the best it's ever been for me.

The first issue just finished and I'm working hard on the second!

It's been two years since I started working on The Glow (https://tapas.io/series/The-Glow) and I really think that the drawing evolution is clear. Even some readers show surprise while watching it evolve haha
I always avoid checking the first chapters because I'm a bit ashamed of the drawing, but it also makes me feel proud of the change:

The Glow is arriving ot its end, and I'm proud of the way it has taken. My mind already thinking about the next comic, but I've promised myself to finish this one before starting anything else.

Wow, some of you have improved quite a lot over such a short amount of time!

I have only one comic with one chapter uploaded, so there isn't much improvement there, since it is all from 2017. I've got another comic that isn't uploaded here (yet), it's been going on for quite a while ...
I started it in 2010 and here are the Covers over the years (the most recent one is a WIP, though almost done):

I always think my stuff hasn't improved much since I haven't had much time to study up, but looking back at my first page things have changed more than expected. Then again this is my first ever attempt at a full colour comic, so I guess I'd naturally improve as I got used to everything. Anatomy may have also improved a little bit from the looks of it maybe? Lettering too, even though it's still pretty iffy.

Starting off, I was still getting used to drawing digitally- plus I hadnt actively drawn comic pages in a few(translation: LOT of) years; was still learning to color(still am)...

I'm used to drawing digitally now; I've been actively doing my comic for about 2 years now, and while I still have a ways to go- my coloring has gotten a little better.

Def been taking advantage of how to use the black borders/gutter to maximize my paneling & art; almost 90% of my pages have a bleed panel/panels.

When I started Serenade Song I was just getting back into drawing after a number of years having practically dropped it. I did a year of practice( while writing) before hand.

I've been working on the comic for two years now, and constantly working on it has helped improve my art tremendously! I'm looking forward to learning and improving further down the line. ^_^

I think this definitely counts as improvement. So I've completely rebooted an old comic of mine that didn't get very far called Dreamwalker Felix

I was really unhappy with it so I shelved it, but now I'm getting help from the wonderfully talented Tyler Kinney and we've completely rebooted and revamped the comic.

This is an example of what I consider an eyesore now XD

And this is a portion of the new page. It's in a long mobile format so I can only showcase a small segment of it because it's too big to post here.

I think I have a lot of art improvements in my comics for almost a year. I am also currently redrawing my first few episodes because of that.

I recently rebooted my main series so I actually took a moment to look at the very first page of the original comic versus the newer pages of the reboot

Between the two is at least a 3 year difference but it's fun to look back and see the changes

That's why Descendant is a novel for now and not a comic. Just kind of gave up for the moment.

When I first started my comic it was just to give myself something to do to give my life a sense of purpose while I was unemployed and depressed. I didn't care about the quality, it was just so that I got something accomplished

Now I have a job and I'm weening off antidepressants. It looks like this.

Ok, it's time for me to cringe, and cringe really really hard.
Even after a lot of progress i don't think it looks really "good" but the improvement is like night and day

It physically hurts me to show look at this page, other than the really bad charcter design, there's the hideous lineart the bad use of speech bubbles, the really REALLY bad attempt at shiny stuff, i can't wait to remake this one.

I don't think this is the best looking one, i don't think it looks all that good either, but it was posted recently and i think it represents the regular look of the comic as it is now. The lineart is much cleaner, both shading and lightning are much better. i think i did a much better job at the shiny stuff (very important)

That first page was made on october of 2017 and the other one was last month, so that makes a difference of 7 months, i'm pretty proud of that. My next goal is to make it more visually interesting with more ambitious shots and panneling and stuff.
