Oh my gosh. This post had me going back through my old laptop and the cringe was real
Maybe someone else will find my art journey amusing!
2017:
My first ever DIGITAL drawing. It was such a mess. I had no idea what I was doing. I was 18 and went to a STEM high school so I never had any art classes. At this point, I had just done traditional drawings/ watercolor paintings as a hobby and felt like such a failure after this. (Still makes me cringe)
2017This was probably ~10 pieces later. I started to get more confident with my lines. Switched art programs (Krita to Autodesk Sketchbook) and felt a lot more comfortable. At this point I decided I wanted to make an effort to learn digital and really started to push myself.
Skipping to 2019/2020
3 Years Later, a semester at an art college and a lot of practice later....... TADA!
I ended up going to college for business (ikr) and decided I didn't want to spend my life in a cubical so I transferred schools to pursue a career in art. I ended up only spending one semester there because I couldn't justify the 40k a year on tuition for what I was receiving education-wise. All of 2019 I spent teaching myself motion graphics and video editing which is what my freelance career mostly revolves around while also doing personal illustrations from time to time.
As of this year (2020), I decided I wanted to try my hand at webcomics! I read novels rather frequently and have been reading on webtoon for about 2 years and said why not?
These three final pieces were done this year. The first was around the end of January when I decided I wanted to give it a go.
These last two are from my Webtoon Short Story entry!
I would say I improved quite a bit in the past couple of years! I still have a lot to learn but I'm happy with my progress so far
