Shipping is fine and I don't mind even the cracships as long as it's not abuse, incest or one of the characters is not a minor. The obsessive shippers bother me no matter if I like the ship or not.

As for sex scenes... I had to unsubscribe some comics because there were more sex scenes than the actual plot and I just got bored. Those kind of scenes don't entertain me much. If you need it for the plot then go ahead but if you only want to do it for the eyecandy...

I personally liked the sex scenes when not much of "action" was shown and there was more focus on the emotional part of it.

Well, there's people, which somehow we cannot strip their title as writers. One of these people is J.K. Rowling. People like these like to make ships of sexless characters like... Dumbledore and his "intense relationship with Grindelwald." Why? I dunno, Politics? Fantasies? Apparently, these people don't understand when not to do this. Even when you, the fan, understand completely.

This is 90% of a time the problem of the writers just shoving a woman in and expecting people to accept her as the love interest without any characterization,or being an abusive tsundere type or similar.

I understand that and I don't actually like badly written canon couples but what I don't understand is how people tend to hate the character instead of hating the writers. I've seen so much anger towards these female characters and sometimes it's just absolutely ridiculous. I mean, I've seen people hate female characters and hoping they would die simply because they've been friendly with a male character. It's completely okay to hate a canon pairing but at least people should direct their anger towards the writers for not doing a better job.

When it comes to shows portraying sex scenes, eh. I could do without. But it's not like it phases me. I just find it kinda boring. I watch porn parodies for laughs so mainstream media sex scenes are not that shocking for me personally.

The original post had a GoT spoiler so it was changed some.
But I believe the question at the core was:
When you have a certain character, would it bother you if they are put in a sex scene when there was little no no indication of their sensuality when you first knew them, nor was there much of a build up to it.

That makes so much sense! I didn't see the thread before the changes and was very confused. I thought this was mostly about unusual ships or crack ships. I seriously wasn't even surprised that people might ship Vader and Voldemort.

Ok. So the first thing that happened to my brain was a short-circuit of my limbic system.
The second thing was my obsessive-compulsive personality traits kicking in and me fixating on how Darth Vader and Voldemort come from two different universes, that the timelines of the two stories could in no way collide unless we broke the fourth wall which made me remember how I wasn't able to let go of a scene in Deadpool which was maybe the only one they wanted to be logical, but they messed it up and it deeply marked and traumatized me.

Now, here comes the third thing. The problem with sexuality is that it is not something fixed. It is fluid (I am not talking about sexual orientations or even asexuality here). It might indeed be very strange to imagine a character we considered as detached from sexuality to engage in sexual actions. However, what are the motivations behind it. Sex can be used as leverage. Did the characters (Darth Vader and Voldemort) submit to a sexual act to reinforce an alliance? To submit the other one? To cause shame?

Generally, in literature and art, sex is about everything but sex. Power, revenge, impulsivity, name it!

My characters are all asexuals, as far as the plot is concerned. There will definitely be no sex scenes, maybe not even any romance (I might be worse romantic storyteller than Lucas, so it's better to just not tempt fate).
Fan side? Well, if I would have any fans devoted enough to write or draw about my stuff... I'd disprove of that and such art would make me feel really uncomfortable, but I don't exactly have any control over the situation. I can say "don't draw lewds!", of course, but essentially, it's only a suggestion, no matter how I phrase that.
