Hahaha, I think the part where I skipped around watching different episodes was glazed over? I have seen much, much more than just the first 3 episodes. In fact, I've seen the latest 5 or 6 episodes too. Trust me, I could never judge a whole show on just the first 3 episodes, that's stupid. I've seen plenty- especially the ones about Garnet. Don't get me wrong, the show is good. It's a good show. But I think there are flaws in the show.
Yes, the art thing is subjective. But... ah! You can be Western without being ugly! Or gross! I think it's a grossness thing. There's certain details cartoonists exaggerate, leave out or define. ... I just, why include those details? Why exaggerate them like THAT? It's gross looking! But that's subjective, I get that. And technically not all the characters are ugly, I think the two at the store are pretty okay looking.
The character designs are great, though. What's wrong with the character designs? That's the best thing the show has going for itself! They're awesome! I feel as though they're perfectly exemplified, and the voices really match as well! The whole "gemsona" thing is kinda cute, and it's a little more dignifying than MLP, if you know what I mean.
The thing about the relationship between Rebecca Sugar and the show- I understand that the show being a "child" of Rebecca will have her imprint on it, but that's not what I mean. I mean the show is a puppet to Rebecca. It's not it's own thing, not always. Sometimes it has it's moments or episodes where the characters really are themselves and such, but that's not always the case. It's like a fanfic, but it's an original piece. Y'know? It's... well, it's not the same. Hard to explain, but there should be less Rebecca Sugar and more Steven Universe.
I understand that this all sounds strange and not really and argument and all, but I swear, it's a thing and I will never succumb to the SU fever because of it! Hahahahahaha =P But also, I do believe this is just about along the lines of a civil discussion if I've ever heard one. Is anybody angry? Or being unreasonable? I hope not.
