Streaming art online, thoughts?

Ive heard for being able to stream art online helps with building an audience or to grab new readers.

I am considering doing it, however i askee subscribers to no avail (a quiet bunch they are lol)

I wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts whether i should or if anyone knows the best platform?
I guess too as well if anyone has stories to do with said topic on expierences and such.

I really like it. Most of the people that I follow use youtube or twitch. By live streams twitch and for how to/speedpaint videos youtube
I also use youtube, but don't have any follower. So its good to build a new audience, but without connections/ a few follower on sm platforms ... it's really hard to be seen

And alot of people use that and generally go there to view artists do such things?

for me it looked like it. because no matter what I've done on sm or youtube, I just don't get any views...
so for me it looks sometimes like luck
and the algorithm is really bad.. especially for small accounts..
but just try it

Everything is better to do when you have a following, but you don't have to have it in order to do stuff I think it's possible to simultaneously stream on both Twitch and YouTube. Anyway all the artists I follow use them both, I recently started streaming on Twitch too. I guess it's not easy to get views, but it's everywhere like that, isn't it. Some people even "raided" my acc, apparently it means some other person can start streaming what you stream on their account.
Of course, don't forget you cannot just take any music, you will have to find some free available music for that

Youll need a vtuber model to really catch peoples attention if you dont already have a big following. Ive seen accounts with 0 followers sky rocket into the high 500 after attaining a vtube model

Which do you think is more beginner friendly? Or they both pretty much the same?

You don't need a vtuber persona, of course, it's just that they are popular now, so I guess it could be a good way to be seen quicker?... But you really don't need need that.

Really don't know, but streaming on both will boost the chance to be seen I haven't streamed on YouTube really (because I started doing it really sporadically and it's a pain to tune everything in the OBS), but I think it won't hurt to do both if possible. If not, maybe try Twitch once, then YouTube the second time.
You'll need OBS program for streaming, btw.

No, not a lot as far as I can see but this seems to be the case for other places as well. As it was already mentioned, streams with the most viewers are usually streaming already established comics with significant fan base, porn, professional quality artwork in general and 3D (it seems that 3D streams are quite rare so we tend to bunch up together), other than that it's completely random. People also tend to advertise their streams in advance (otherwise no one will know that you are streaming) but Tapas is not a good place for that so it really boils down to which other social networks (Discord, Twitter and such) you are using. Most people come to drawing streams to chat so be prepared for using a microphone or typing during your work, otherwise people get bored and go away.

Streaming on Twitch and Youtube works only if you advertise yourself in advance because otherwise no one will be able to find you, Picarto is the best place for trying because it is dedicated to streaming art so people just go to Explore and scroll through available streams which means you won't have to do anything in particular to be visible, just run OBS and stream so in my opinion this is the most preferable option for trying.

Twitch has the same problem as everywhere else--they used to have a lot more focus on art stuff, lately it's been entirely focused on games. So, to get viewers you have to collect them through social media, you aren't going to get any from within Twitch itself unless you already got those views. Not that it's bad to do, it's great, and I loved that I actually got to speak to people who enjoy my work and they'd be there every stream. But, don't expect to see lots of followers just because of the streaming. I did it every Friday for a year and like...I was not that impressed. But I did enjoy myself while doing it.

And my most popular stream? When I got bored and played a video game so fml.
