I guess it depends the type of reader you want to attract. I love mystery personally, I much rather try to figure out the plot and the meaning behind things than having the answer in my face the entire time. I find it engages the reader into the story and you get much more invested in it. But, you have to leave enough breadcrumbs, so you have an "Oh wow!" moment in the end, instead of a "What the heck?" moment. And if you read it again, you can clearly see the breadcrumbs that lead to it.
My own story has a lot of plots and none of them connect right now, but I leave breadcrumbs, so the reader can try to put the puzzle together. I just write as if you can never know more than what the characters know.
